INTRODUCTION
Georgia-Pacific Clarendon OSB has an incredible opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Technician (E&I) at our oriented-strand board (OSB) facility in Alcolu, SC. This individual will work with supervisors, mentors, coworkers, and others to gain knowledge and skills in our manufacturing environment and to ensure that the electrical needs of the mill can be met.
This is a DAY SHIFT position with a Monday - Friday work schedule. The expected normal schedule for the position is 7:00am - 3:00pm EST. However, must be willing to work weekends, shifts, holidays, and overtime if needed.

OUR TEAM
Our Clarendon OSB facility in Alcolu, SC is one of Georgia-Pacific's newest facilities using some of the most advanced technology to create the specialty brand of Blue-Ribbon Oriented Strand Board (OSB). This type of OSB is used for floor, wall, and roof sheathing in residential and light commercial construction applications. Opportunities to advance are available as you acquire the skills needed for other keys roles in the facility. Georgia-Pacific employees in the Finishing Department are self-motivated and require the ability to work with a team to achieve production and quality goals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and circuits
- Maintain, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Maintain and troubleshoot circuits and components on pneumatic systems, control devices, and hydraulic equipment
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to troubleshoot and install equipment
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- One or more of the following:
- Associate/Technical degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, or Electronic Technology
- A minimum of two or more years of Electrical/Electronic/Controls troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience installing, examining, replacing, or repairing Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and motor controllers
- Experience with running conduit and installing electrical infrastructure to code
- Experience using Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Controls; identifying major components, wiring input/output cards, and reading basic ladder logic diagrams
