Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our South Carolina team and drive successful project planning from the ground up. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for varies construction projects, Including SCDOT and NCDOT. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately interpret project scope and material requirements.
• Develop detailed cost estimates by analyzing labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and other project costs
• Manage project budgets by tracking costs throughout the bidding process and adjusting estimates as needed to meet project goals.
• Utilize construction management software and spreadsheets to organize data, prepare bid proposals, and communicate estimates clearly to stakeholders.
• Conduct material cost estimating and pricing analysis by sourcing competitive bids from suppliers and subcontractors through negotiation.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from blueprints and technical drawings to determine precise material quantities required for each project phase.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and contractors to review contracts, scope changes, and ensure alignment on project budgets and timelines.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all estimating activities, including bid submissions, client communications, and cost management documentation.
• Stay current with industry trends, construction industry experience, and new estimating tools or software to continually improve accuracy and efficiency in estimation processes.

Experience

• Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator with a minimum 2 years experience. (5 years is preferred)
• Strong proficiency in estimating software platforms.
• Skilled in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, construction drawings review, and construction site experience.
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
• Excellent knowledge of construction management software tools and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication purposes.
• Deep understanding of cost control techniques including material cost estimating, budgeting, and project cost management.
• Familiarity with contracts, project management principles, and managing estimation for commercial construction projects.
• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, team members, vendors, and stakeholders throughout the estimation process.
