Field Operations Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a field operations manager job in New York?
Start by targeting the sectors that hire most heavily in New York: utilities and energy infrastructure, telecommunications, commercial construction, and last-mile logistics. Jobs concentrate in Midtown, the outer boroughs, and the New York metro corridor. Candidates who stand out typically have hands-on crew or dispatch leadership experience and familiarity with New York's dense urban operating environment, including permitting processes and multi-site coordination.
Which companies hire field operations managers in New York?
Companies currently hiring field operations managers in New York include Amazon, DoorDash, and Google, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's market draws a wide range of employer types, from large utility and telecom operators to regional construction contractors and logistics firms serving the five boroughs.
Are there remote field operations manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but only partially. Field operations manager roles are largely on-site by nature, since the work involves overseeing crews, equipment, and physical locations directly. About 31% of field operations manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026. Scheduling, reporting, and vendor coordination tasks are the functions most commonly handled off-site in New York-based roles.
How can I get a field operations manager job in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in New York is moving up from a field technician, dispatcher, or operations coordinator role at a utility, telecom provider, or logistics company serving the metro area. Employers like large infrastructure contractors and municipal service vendors often promote from within. Familiarity with New York's boroughs, traffic patterns, and union labor environments gives entry-level candidates a tangible edge in local hiring.
Which industries hire the most field operations managers in New York?
Most field operations manager openings in New York sit in Technology & Software, Retail, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026.
