Field Operations Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field operations manager in New York?
Most field operations managers in New York move into the role after several years in front-line supervisory or coordinator positions within their industry. A bachelor's degree in operations, business, or engineering is the standard baseline, though some employers in construction or utilities accept equivalent field experience. New York does not issue a universal state license for this title, but roles in regulated industries such as utilities, telecommunications, and construction often require specific certifications tied to those sectors.
How much do field operations managers make in New York?
Field operations managers in New York earn a median of about $130,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,340 for the lowest 10% to over $336,070 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field operations managers in New York?
Employers hiring field operations managers in New York right now include Wendy's, ABM Industries, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense infrastructure industries, including utilities, transit, and large-scale commercial construction, mean that anchor employers in those sectors account for a significant share of openings throughout the state.
Which New York cities have the most field operations manager jobs?
New York, Getzville, and Hopewell Junction have the most field operations manager openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its concentration of major logistics, utility, and telecommunications operations, while Buffalo and Albany draw on regional manufacturing, infrastructure, and state government facility operations that require dedicated field management teams.
Are there remote field operations manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. The role is fundamentally hands-on, involving site visits, crew oversight, and real-time field problem-solving that cannot be done fully off-site. About 29% of field operations manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those positions tend to be in planning, reporting, or multi-site coordination functions rather than direct on-the-ground supervision.
How can I get hired as a field operations manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a field coordinator, operations associate, or dispatcher role at a large New York employer and building supervisory responsibility from there. Companies like Con Edison, the MTA, and major logistics operators in the New York City metro regularly hire operations trainees and field associates who advance into management. Earning a PMP credential or completing a relevant certificate program at a CUNY or SUNY school strengthens a candidate's profile considerably at the point of applying for a first management title.
Where can I find and apply to field operations manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to field operations manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and industry, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
