Field Sales Consultant Jobs in Wyoming: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field sales consultant in Wyoming?
Most field sales consultant roles in Wyoming do not require a state-issued license, but positions in insurance sales require a Wyoming Property and Casualty or Life and Health producer license issued by the Wyoming Department of Insurance. Candidates typically hold a bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, or engineering. Employers in energy and agriculture often prioritize industry-specific knowledge, so experience working in Wyoming's oilfields or on agricultural operations can substitute for formal credentials.
How much do field sales consultants make in Wyoming?
Field sales consultants in Wyoming earn a median of about $58,970 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $36,070 for the lowest 10% to over $136,150 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field sales consultants in Wyoming?
Wyoming field sales consultant roles are posted by Bechtel, Archrock, and Caterpillar and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Wyoming's energy and agricultural base means many of these employers are looking for consultants comfortable covering wide rural territories across the state.
Which Wyoming cities have the most field sales consultant jobs?
Cheyenne, Casper, and Rock Springs have the most field sales consultant openings in Wyoming. Casper leads because it is the commercial hub for oilfield services and industrial distribution, Cheyenne drives openings in insurance and commercial services as the state capital and largest city, and Gillette's position at the center of Powder River Basin energy activity supports steady demand for equipment and supply sales roles.
Are there remote field sales consultant jobs in Wyoming?
Yes, but they're rare. Field sales consultant work is inherently territory-based and client-facing, which limits how much of it can be done remotely. About 19% of field sales consultant openings tied to Wyoming are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, making fully remote positions the exception rather than the rule. Inside sales support functions and account management roles with established clients are the most likely to offer some remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a field sales consultant in Wyoming with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for sales development representative or territory assistant roles with Wyoming's larger industrial distributors, agricultural equipment dealers, and energy services companies, many of which promote from within. Companies like Caterpillar dealers and regional insurance agencies in Cheyenne and Casper run associate sales programs where candidates learn the product line before carrying a full territory. Earning a Wyoming insurance producer license through the Department of Insurance is a concrete credential that opens doors in the insurance segment without prior sales experience.
Where can I find and apply to field sales consultant jobs in Wyoming?
You can find and apply to field sales consultant jobs in Wyoming on Migrate Mate, which lists current Wyoming openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and preferred territory, and apply directly to the listings that fit your background.
