Field Sales Representative Jobs in Alaska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field sales representative in Alaska?
Most field sales representative roles in Alaska do not require a state-issued license, but specific industries add credentialing requirements. Pharmaceutical and medical device roles often require manufacturer certification and may involve the Pharmaceutical Sales Certification Board credential. Industrial and safety sales positions favor candidates with OSHA awareness training. A bachelor's degree in business or a related field is the standard entry point, and employers across Anchorage and Fairbanks commonly prefer candidates with prior Alaska territory or B2B experience.
How much do field sales representatives make in Alaska?
Field sales representatives in Alaska earn a median of about $69,610 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $36,930 for the lowest 10% to over $102,080 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field sales representatives in Alaska?
Alaska field sales representative roles are posted by Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, bp, and GCI and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Alaska's oil and gas, healthcare, and industrial distribution sectors generate the most consistent field sales demand across the state.
Which Alaska cities have the most field sales representative jobs?
Anchorage, Palmer, and Prudhoe Bay have the most field sales representative openings in Alaska. Anchorage dominates because it is the state's commercial hub, home to the largest concentration of healthcare systems, distributors, and corporate regional offices, while Fairbanks and Juneau attract openings tied to government contractors, resource extraction suppliers, and state agency procurement.
Are there remote field sales representative jobs in Alaska?
Yes, but they're rare. Field sales representative work is fundamentally relationship-driven and territory-based, which limits fully remote arrangements. About 10% of field sales representative openings tied to Alaska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to be inside sales or account management roles where client meetings happen virtually rather than on-site visits.
How can I get hired as a field sales representative in Alaska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through inside sales or customer service roles at Alaska distributors and regional suppliers, then transitioning into a field territory position. Employers like Sysco Alaska and regional industrial distributors in Anchorage regularly hire associate sales representatives with strong communication skills over formal experience. Completing a Pharmaceutical Sales Certification Board credential or an OSHA awareness course signals seriousness to hiring managers in the two largest specialty tracks. A demonstrated ability to self-manage a schedule across remote geography is the most valued quality Alaska employers cite.
Where can I find and apply to field sales representative jobs in Alaska?
You can find and apply to field sales representative jobs in Alaska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Alaska openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience, territory preference, and industry focus, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
