Field Sales Representative Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field sales representative in Oregon?
Most field sales representative roles in Oregon require a bachelor's degree, though some employers in agriculture, construction, and distribution hire candidates with an associate degree plus demonstrated sales aptitude. Oregon does not impose a statewide license specifically for field sales representatives, but roles in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or financial products may require product-specific certifications governed by federal or industry bodies. Building a portfolio of documented sales results and completing employer onboarding programs are the clearest paths to entry.
How much do field sales representatives make in Oregon?
Field sales representatives in Oregon earn a median of about $67,040 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $38,510 for the lowest 10% to over $135,480 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field sales representatives in Oregon?
Companies currently hiring field sales representatives in Oregon include AT&T, Canyon Creek Financial, and OSL Retail Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oregon's mix of technology firms, regional health plans, agricultural suppliers, and building materials distributors means consistent field sales demand across both the Portland metro and rural territories.
Which Oregon cities have the most field sales representative jobs?
Portland, Clackamas, and Salem have the most field sales representative openings in Oregon. Portland dominates because of its dense concentration of technology companies, healthcare systems, and regional corporate headquarters, while Eugene's strong agricultural and university-adjacent industries draw medical and supply sales roles, and Bend's rapid commercial growth fuels openings in construction materials, outdoor industry accounts, and business services sales.
Are there remote field sales representative jobs in Oregon?
Yes, but they're rare. Field sales is defined by in-person client visits, territory coverage, and on-site demonstrations, so fully remote positions are uncommon compared to inside sales or account management roles. About 29% of field sales representative openings tied to Oregon are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and the roles that qualify tend to be senior-level national account positions where the client relationship is managed primarily by phone and video.
How can I get hired as a field sales representative in Oregon with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for inside sales associate or sales development representative roles at Oregon-based employers, where you build quota history before moving into field coverage. Companies like PacificSource Health Plans and regional agricultural cooperatives run structured onboarding and mentorship programs for early-career candidates. Lateral moves from customer service, retail management, or account coordination at Oregon distributors and technology firms are also common. Completing a relevant product certification, such as a manufacturer's sales training program, gives candidates without territory experience a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to field sales representative jobs in Oregon?
You can find and apply to field sales representative jobs in Oregon on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oregon openings. Search the roles available, find the ones that match your territory preference, industry background, and experience level, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
