Account Representative Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an account representative in Oregon?
Most Oregon employers hire account representatives with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though some accept an associate degree combined with relevant sales experience. Oregon does not require a state-issued license for general account representative roles, but positions in insurance sales require an Oregon Department of Financial Regulation producer license, which involves completing a pre-licensing course and passing the Oregon state exam. Building experience through inside sales or customer service roles at Oregon-based distributors, tech companies, or healthcare organizations is a common path into the field.
Which companies hire account representatives in Oregon?
Oregon account representative roles are posted by State Farm, Kimball Midwest, and Thryv and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oregon's mix of established technology, healthcare, and financial services employers means account representative openings appear across a wide range of industries and deal sizes throughout the state.
Which Oregon cities have the most account representative jobs?
Portland, Bend, and Salem are the Oregon cities with the most account representative openings. Portland leads by a wide margin because of its density of corporate headquarters, regional offices, and technology firms, while Salem's government-adjacent industries and Eugene's university-tied businesses and manufacturing base generate steady hiring in their own right.
Are there remote account representative jobs in Oregon?
Yes, and they're more common than in many fields. About 67% of account representative openings tied to Oregon are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role revolves around phone, video, and email outreach rather than in-person visits. Inside sales and software account management positions are the most consistently remote, while territory-based roles covering physical accounts across Oregon typically require regular on-site presence.
How can I get hired as an account representative in Oregon with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for inside sales representative or sales development representative roles, which Oregon technology and software companies routinely post as junior positions that feed into full account representative tracks. Employers like those in Portland's tech corridor and Oregon-based insurance carriers regularly hire candidates with strong communication skills and train them on products and CRM systems. Completing an Oregon community college certificate in sales, marketing, or business gives candidates a concrete credential, and moving laterally from customer service or retail banking at Oregon credit unions or regional banks is another well-worn route into the field.
Where can I find and apply to account representative jobs in Oregon?
You can find and apply to account representative jobs in Oregon on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oregon openings from employers across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the ones that match.
