Field Sales Manager Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field sales manager in Oregon?
Most field sales managers in Oregon move into the role after several years as a field sales representative in a relevant industry such as industrial equipment, technology, or agricultural products. Oregon does not require a state-issued license for this management role, but employers consistently favor candidates with a bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline. Building experience with CRM tools, territory planning, and team coaching within Oregon's key industries puts candidates in a strong position for promotion or lateral hiring.
How much do field sales managers make in Oregon?
Field sales managers in Oregon earn a median of about $155,810 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $86,490 for the lowest 10% to over $274,490 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field sales managers in Oregon?
Oregon field sales manager roles are posted by AT&T, Canyon Creek Financial, and OSL Retail Services and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oregon's concentration of manufacturing, agriculture, and technology companies creates steady demand for field sales leadership across the Willamette Valley and beyond.
Which Oregon cities have the most field sales manager jobs?
Portland, Salem, and Eugene have the most field sales manager openings in Oregon right now. Portland dominates because it is home to the state's largest manufacturing, distribution, and technology employer base, while Eugene and Bend draw openings from agricultural equipment dealers, outdoor industry companies, and regional distributors that need dedicated territory managers for their central and southern Oregon markets.
Are there remote field sales manager jobs in Oregon?
Yes, but they're rare. Field sales management is an inherently field-based role requiring in-person territory visits, team ride-alongs, and client meetings, so fully remote arrangements are uncommon. About 44% of field sales manager openings tied to Oregon are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those postings typically cover administrative duties such as pipeline reviews, forecasting calls, and virtual team coaching rather than the core field work.
How can I get hired as a field sales manager in Oregon with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to build two or three years as a field sales representative in one of Oregon's active hiring sectors, such as agricultural equipment, industrial distribution, or technology hardware, then pursue an internal promotion. Large Oregon-based employers like Daimler Trucks North America and Pacific Power often post territory representative or account executive roles that function as a direct pipeline into management. Earning a Salesforce certification or completing a sales leadership development program through Portland State University's business school can give candidates without formal management experience a clear edge when applying for their first supervisory role.
Where can I find and apply to field sales manager jobs in Oregon?
You can find and apply to field sales manager jobs in Oregon on Migrate Mate, which lists current Oregon openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your industry background, territory preference, and experience level, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
