Field Sales Representative Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field sales representative in New York?
Most field sales representative roles in New York require a bachelor's degree, though employers in industries like wholesale distribution and logistics will consider candidates with a high school diploma and relevant experience. New York does not require a general sales license, but roles in financial products require FINRA registration, pharmaceutical sales may require company-sponsored product training, and medical device roles often require familiarity with hospital procurement processes before an offer is extended.
How much do field sales representatives make in New York?
Field sales representatives in New York earn a median of about $92,190 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $45,750 for the lowest 10% to over $174,820 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field sales representatives in New York?
Employers hiring field sales representatives in New York right now include Jeeter - a DreamFields Brand, Google, and CVS Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, major healthcare systems, and national distributors means consistent openings across industries from life sciences to enterprise software.
Which New York cities have the most field sales representative jobs?
New York, Albany, and Syracuse account for the most field sales representative openings in New York. New York City dominates due to its concentration of corporate headquarters, healthcare networks, and financial institutions, while Albany and Buffalo generate steady demand from regional distributors, insurance carriers, and manufacturing companies with dedicated territory sales teams.
Are there remote field sales representative jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Field sales is by nature a client-facing, territory-based role that requires in-person visits, so fully remote positions represent a small share of openings. About 50% of field sales representative openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to cover inside sales support, key account management, or roles where the territory is managed primarily by phone and video.
How can I get hired as a field sales representative in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a sales development representative or inside sales associate role, which large New York employers like ADP, Sysco, and major pharmaceutical companies use as pipelines into field positions. Completing a company-sponsored sales training program, earning a FINRA Series 6 or 63 license for financial sales, or gaining territory familiarity through a retail or account coordinator role are the credentials that move candidates to the top of entry-level shortlists.
Where can I find and apply to field sales representative jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to field sales representative jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that fit your experience and target territory, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
