Sales Trainee Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales trainee in New York?
Most sales trainee roles in New York are open to candidates with a bachelor's degree, though the required field varies by industry. Financial services firms and insurance companies operating under New York State Department of Financial Services oversight often require trainees to obtain a Series 63, Series 7, or New York property and casualty license within the first months of employment, and they sponsor that process. For general B2B or technology sales, no state license applies, and employers hire based on communication skills and academic background.
Which companies hire sales trainees in New York?
New York sales trainee roles are posted by Red Bull, Oaks, and Grupo Bimbo and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's density of financial services, insurance, and enterprise technology firms means structured rotational sales development programs are more common here than in most other states.
Which New York cities have the most sales trainee jobs?
New York, Albany, and Brooklyn account for the largest share of sales trainee openings in New York. New York City dominates because it is the headquarters city for a disproportionate number of financial, insurance, media, and enterprise technology firms that run formal sales development programs, while White Plains and Melville serve as regional hubs for large employers with suburban sales offices covering the metro and surrounding territory.
Are there remote sales trainee jobs in New York?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely analytical or desk-based fields, because most sales trainee programs include in-person coaching, ride-alongs, and structured observation that require office or field presence. About 0% of sales trainee openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. The remote-leaning portion tends to be inside sales or software sales development representative roles rather than field or financial product positions.
How can I get hired as a sales trainee in New York with little or no experience?
The most direct path is applying to the formal sales development programs that large New York employers run specifically for new graduates, including rotational programs at firms like ADP, Xerox, and major insurance carriers headquartered in the state. Campus recruiting through CUNY, Fordham, and Hofstra is active in this space. Adjacent starting points include retail banking, customer service, or account coordinator roles, which New York employers regularly treat as pipelines into sales trainee tracks. Completing a relevant license prep course, such as for a Series 63 or property and casualty license, signals seriousness and gives candidates a measurable edge.
Where can I find and apply to sales trainee jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to sales trainee jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Find a role that fits and apply directly to the employer through the listing.
