Sales Consultant Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales consultant in New York?
Most sales consultant roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline, though many employers prioritize demonstrated sales performance over credentials. For roles in real estate sales consulting, New York State requires a real estate salesperson license issued by the New York Department of State, Division of Licensing Services. Financial product sales consultants may need FINRA Series licenses depending on what they sell. Building experience in a junior sales or customer success role is the most common starting path.
Which companies hire sales consultants in New York?
Employers hiring sales consultants in New York right now include JPMorganChase, Bank of America, and Empire Automotive, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major financial institutions, and enterprise technology firms means demand for sales consultants stays consistent across industries year-round.
Which New York cities have the most sales consultant jobs?
New York, Brooklyn, and Syracuse have the most sales consultant openings in New York. New York City drives the bulk of demand due to its density of financial services firms, enterprise technology companies, and luxury retail, while secondary markets like White Plains attract openings from corporate campuses and regional headquarters located in Westchester County.
Are there remote sales consultant jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 19% of sales consultant openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role can be conducted over phone and video. Inside sales, SaaS sales, and financial consulting roles are the most likely to offer fully remote or hybrid arrangements, while retail and real estate sales consulting remain primarily on-site.
How can I get hired as a sales consultant in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or business development representative role, which large New York employers across tech and financial services use as a structured entry point. Companies like Salesforce and major New York banks run associate sales programs that accept candidates without direct experience. A completed FINRA Series 6 or 63 license, or a New York real estate salesperson license, gives candidates a measurable edge. Adjacent roles in customer service, retail, or account coordination at New York firms are also common stepping stones.
Where can I find and apply to sales consultant jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to sales consultant jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience and target area, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
