Finance Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance in Oregon?
Most finance roles in Oregon require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics as the baseline credential. For positions involving public accounting or attestation services, you must hold or be pursuing a CPA license through the Oregon Board of Accountancy, which requires passing the Uniform CPA Examination and meeting Oregon's education and experience standards. Analyst and corporate finance roles typically do not require state licensure but benefit from credentials such as the CFA or CMA.
Which companies hire finances in Oregon?
Employers hiring finances in Oregon right now include NIKE, Three Rivers Casino Resort, and DevNW, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oregon's concentration of corporate headquarters, large healthcare networks, and regional financial institutions means sustained demand across both large enterprise finance teams and mid-market companies.
Which Oregon cities have the most finance jobs?
Portland, Beaverton, and Florence lead Oregon for finance job openings. Portland drives the majority of listings as the state's commercial and corporate hub, home to major headquarters and regional offices across technology, manufacturing, and banking. Eugene and Bend contribute steadily thanks to university-affiliated institutions, regional health systems, and expanding mid-size employers that support in-house finance functions.
Are there remote finance jobs in Oregon?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 70% of finance openings tied to Oregon are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how well analytical and reporting work translates to distributed teams. Financial analysis, FP&A, and accounting roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while treasury, audit, and controller positions more often require at least some on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a finance in Oregon with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a rotational or associate finance program at a large Oregon employer such as Nike, a regional bank, or a major healthcare system like Providence or OHSU, which run structured programs for recent graduates. Internships that convert to full-time roles are common at Portland-area corporate offices. Candidates who earn a CPA candidate designation or pass CFA Level I stand out significantly, and lateral moves from adjacent roles in accounting operations or financial operations support are a well-worn entry point.
Where can I find and apply to finance jobs in Oregon?
You can find and apply to finance jobs in Oregon on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Oregon employers. Search the roles available, identify the ones that match your background and target level, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
