Business Systems Analyst - Finance and Accounting
Company Corporate - Houston, TX 77054
Position Type - Full Time
Description
TNT Crane & Rigging is seeking an IT Business Systems Analyst to support enterprise platform initiatives with a primary focus on Finance & Accounting — GL, AP/AR, budgeting, reconciliations, and financial reporting — alongside broader shared service functions across Operations and IT. This role is the strategic bridge between Finance/Accounting operations and technology, translating requirements into scalable system configurations, standardized processes, and sustainable adoption.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on enterprise system experience (ERP/financial systems preferred) with genuine SQL query-writing proficiency (standard SQL and PostgreSQL), and understands the data governance, process optimization, and cross-functional coordination needed to execute Finance-focused system initiatives successfully. HR/Payroll systems exposure is a plus, not a focus area.
Business Process Alignment & Systems Strategy
- Partner with Finance and Accounting leadership to gather, document, and validate business requirements, translating them into functional specifications and system solutions.
- Facilitate process harmonization across Finance, Accounting, and Operations to reduce redundancy and increase standardization.
- Support enterprise platform initiatives — system evaluations, vendor demos, fit-gap analysis, process mapping, requirements validation — with emphasis on financial/ERP systems.
- Serve as liaison between Finance/Accounting stakeholders and technical teams to ensure system functionality aligns with financial and operational objectives.
- Identify automation, reporting, and workflow optimization opportunities across Finance and shared service functions.
Data Stewardship & Data Quality
- Lead data cleansing, mapping, reconciliation, and master data governance across Finance, Accounting, and operational data domains.
- Define data standards, naming conventions, and governance policies with subject-matter experts.
- Perform data quality audits and coordinate remediation to ensure accuracy and integrity across GL, AP/AR, and related financial data.
- Support data validation, migration, and reconciliation tied to system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements.
Training & Change Enablement
- Design and deliver training materials — user guides, quick-reference docs, video walkthroughs, instructor-led sessions — in person and virtually.
- Serve as a trusted business systems resource supporting adoption and operational readiness.
- Support change management efforts tied to system enhancements and process transformation.
Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Build strong working relationships across Finance, Accounting, Operations, and IT to align technology initiatives with business priorities.
- Synthesize input from stakeholder groups to drive consensus on process standardization and system configuration decisions.
- Present status updates, findings, and business impact analyses to leadership in business-friendly language.
- Coordinate UAT cycles — documenting defects, tracking resolution through completion.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes: GL, AP/AR, budgeting, payroll, reconciliations, financial reporting.
- Strong SQL proficiency — standard SQL and PostgreSQL — for data analysis, validation, reporting, and troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting enterprise business systems within Finance, Accounting, or shared service functions.
- Experience gathering business requirements and supporting system implementations, process improvement, and end-user adoption.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with cloud-based enterprise financial/ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Familiarity with data mapping, integrations, reporting tools, and ETL concepts.
- Prior experience in multi-entity, multi-location, or rapidly growing organizations undergoing systems modernization.
- General familiarity with HR/Payroll systems (HRIS, UKG, Paycom, or similar) and related processes — a plus, not a focus area.
- Crane rental industry experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, CBAP, Lean/Six Sigma, or CPA/accounting coursework a plus.
- Full-time, on-site position with occasional on-call responsibilities for system emergencies.
- Opportunities for growth and professional development within the company.

Tips for Your Finance Systems Manager Job Search
Tailor your resume to each ERP platform
Finance systems manager roles are often written around a specific platform, SAP, Oracle, or Workday. List your certifications and version experience prominently so hiring managers can instantly match your background to their stack.
Quantify system migrations you have led
Recruiters screen for candidates who have owned a full implementation cycle. Replace vague bullet points with specifics: number of business units affected, timeline, and measurable improvements in close time or reporting accuracy you delivered.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists finance systems manager openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Target postings that list your certifications
Many finance systems manager postings filter by CPA, CMA, or platform-specific credentials like SAP Certified Application Associate. Applying to roles that explicitly name your certification puts you in a smaller, better-matched candidate pool from the start.
Prepare a system audit story for interviews
Interviewers almost always ask how you identified and resolved a financial systems gap. Prepare a concise example that walks through the problem, your diagnostic approach, the fix, and the business outcome, ideally one tied to compliance or close cycle improvement.
Negotiate based on implementation scope
Compensation offers vary significantly based on whether the role is maintenance versus active implementation. Before accepting, clarify the project roadmap and use that scope to support a higher offer if the role involves a major system rollout.
Finance Systems Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most finance systems managers?
The companies hiring the most finance systems managers right now include Axon, Republic Services, and Fastly, with the largest share of openings in California, Texas, and New York, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Demand is concentrated at mid-to-large enterprises undergoing ERP transitions or finance system consolidations.
How many finance systems manager jobs are remote?
About 80% of finance systems manager openings are fully remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the role's dependence on cross-functional collaboration during implementations. Sub-areas focused on post-go-live support and reporting configuration tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while roles tied to active system rollouts usually require on-site presence during key project phases.
How do you become a finance systems manager?
Start with a degree in finance, accounting, or information systems, then build hands-on experience in financial operations or systems administration. Earn a platform certification in SAP, Oracle, or Workday to differentiate yourself. Move into roles that give you ownership of system configurations or reporting processes, and progressively take on project lead responsibilities for upgrades or integrations to position yourself for a manager-level opening.
Can you get a finance systems manager job without direct management experience?
Yes, especially if you have led system implementations or cross-functional projects, which employers treat as equivalent to direct people management. Focus on roles titled finance systems analyst or systems lead first, document any project ownership you held, and highlight outcomes like reduced close times or improved data accuracy. Many employers promote internally from these roles once a major system project is on the horizon.
What does the finance systems manager interview process look like?
Most processes include an initial recruiter screen, a hiring manager interview focused on your ERP experience and project history, and a technical or case-based round where you walk through how you would approach a system audit, data migration, or reporting issue. Final rounds often involve a panel with finance leadership and IT to assess your ability to bridge both functions, and some employers ask for a short presentation on a past implementation.
Where can I find and apply to finance systems manager jobs?
You can find and apply to finance systems manager jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Find roles that match your experience and apply directly to each listing from the page.
