Job Summary
Senior Corporate Accountant – Revenue & Regulatory Reporting (Healthcare) | CPA Required | No Direct Reports
Ideal for CPAs looking to exit public accounting (2–4 busy seasons of experience) into a highly specialized, analytical corporate role. The Senior Corporate Accountant provides specialized oversight for regulatory reimbursement and revenue analysis as it pertains to net revenue recognition, accounts receivable valuation, and regulatory compliance for hospitals and other providers. Unlike traditional accounting roles, this position does not focus on month-end close, expense management, or general ledger debits and credits. Instead, you will ensure the accuracy of complex AR reserves and state supplemental funding balances, while managing all aspects of Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting and audits. The Lifestyle: 100% Remote (or hybrid) with our Nashville team, and zero billable hours. No Healthcare Experience Required: We will train you on the healthcare nuances.

- Validates that accounts receivable (AR) reserves and state supplemental balances are accurate and properly stated.
- Develops and maintains analytical tools, profitability models, and financial indicator reports to track revenue valuation trends.
Regulatory & Reimbursement Management
- Manages the preparation and submission of annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, audits, appeals, and reopenings.

- Monitors legislative and regulatory changes in state Medicaid programs to assess their impact on revenue models.
- Communicates directly with Medicare and Medicaid Intermediaries to resolve audit and reporting issues.
Stakeholder Communication & Projects
- Manages targeted projects designed to optimize net revenue and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provides high-level operational feedback and decision support to executive management.

- Licenses/Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional data analysis and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data validation rather than transactional accounting.
- Tech-Savvy: Advanced proficiency with Excel; comfortable working within highly automated financial environments.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for executive-level updates (CFOs) and external regulatory bodies.
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to audit complex valuation models and identify anomalies in large data sets.

Tips for Your Corporate Accountant Job Search
Tailor your resume to the close cycle
Hiring managers for corporate accountant roles want to see month-end and year-end close experience called out explicitly. List the number of entities or accounts you managed and the tools you used to execute the close, not just that you participated in it.
Lead with your ERP system proficiency
Most corporate accountant postings filter candidates by ERP. Name the specific modules you've worked in, whether that's SAP General Ledger, Oracle Financials, or NetSuite, so your resume clears automated screening before a recruiter reads a word.
Target openings by industry vertical
Corporate accounting varies significantly by industry. A role in manufacturing will test cost and inventory accounting, while a tech company will prioritize revenue recognition under ASC 606. Narrow your search to verticals where your experience maps directly to what the role demands.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists corporate accountant openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare to walk through a reconciliation live
Corporate accountant interviews frequently include a technical exercise where you explain how you'd reconcile a balance sheet account or investigate a variance. Practice narrating your logic out loud, referencing supporting schedules, and describing how you'd escalate an unexplained difference.
Negotiate using your CPA status as leverage
If you hold or are actively pursuing your CPA license, name that specifically when discussing compensation. Many companies budget a licensing premium into corporate accountant offers, and candidates who don't raise it often leave that portion on the table.
Corporate Accountant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most corporate accountants?
The companies hiring the most corporate accountants right now include Amazon, Alvarez & Marsal, and Goldman Sachs, with the largest share of openings in New York, California, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is consistent across large publicly traded companies, private equity-backed businesses, and healthcare systems.
How many corporate accountant jobs are remote?
About 29% of corporate accountant openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, though fully on-site roles remain common in industries that require physical access to records or inventory. Financial reporting and general ledger roles tend to have the highest share of remote and hybrid arrangements compared to cost accounting or plant-based positions.
How do you become a corporate accountant?
Start by earning a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, which is the baseline requirement for virtually every corporate accountant role. Passing the CPA exam significantly improves your competitiveness, though it is not always required for entry-level positions. Gain experience through staff accountant or accounting analyst roles, build proficiency in at least one major ERP system, and work through several full month-end and year-end close cycles before targeting corporate accountant titles.
Can you get hired as a corporate accountant with little experience?
Yes, entry-level corporate accountant roles exist, particularly at larger companies that hire directly from accounting programs and rotate new staff through different functions. Focus your applications on staff accountant or associate accountant titles, which feed into corporate accountant positions. Internship experience, exposure to close processes, and a CPA exam section passed will all strengthen an application when full work history is limited.
What does the corporate accountant interview process look like?
Most corporate accountant interviews include an initial phone screen with HR, followed by a technical round with the accounting manager or controller that covers close processes, reconciliation methodology, and ERP experience. A final round often includes a case study or take-home exercise involving a journal entry, variance analysis, or account reconciliation. Some companies add a presentation step for senior-level roles where you walk through a sample financial schedule.
Where can I find and apply to corporate accountant jobs?
You can find and apply to corporate accountant jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from companies across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialization, then apply directly to each one that fits.
