Job Description
The Global Customer Marketing Account Owner (AO) is a strategic relationship and program management role at the heart of Salesforce's customer storytelling engine. Account Owners serve as the primary point of accountability for a portfolio of high-priority customer accounts, orchestrating co-marketing opportunities across stories, films, events, PR, and reference activations. This role sits within the office of the Chief Creative Officer and partners closely with Sales, Product Marketing, and Customer Marketing functional teams to turn customer success into Salesforce's most powerful go-to-market assets.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify co-marketing opportunities in partnership with Account Executives, assessing customer readiness, executive sponsorship, product consumption, and brand values.
- Own a portfolio of Tier 1 customer accounts, serving as the primary customer marketing relationship lead for strategic logos with high activation potential across multiple co-marketing activities.
- Develop deep product fluency across the Salesforce portfolio — understanding core products, Agentforce capabilities, and company positioning to craft co-marketing narratives that align customer use cases with Salesforce's strategic priorities and resonate authentically with customer goals.
- Build and manage joint marketing pipelines across web stories, customer films, event speaking, PR, earnings calls, and reference engagements.
- Partner with Operating Unit leaders, AEs, and regional teams to navigate customer relationships, surface marketing-ready accounts, and align on co-marketing timing and positioning.
- Coordinate customer approvals for sensitive marketing assets, including demos, keynote content, and digital activations, managing legal, comms, and exec-level sensitivities.
- Track and report account status in the Storytelling Org (Salesforce CRM), maintaining accurate pipeline data across lifecycle stages and substages.
- Triage inbound co-marketing requests from PMM, IMM, and other internal teams, ensuring Salesforce doesn't over-communicate with customers or create conflicting marketing touchpoints.
Qualifications
- Experience in B2B marketing, customer marketing, account management, or a related strategic role
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across Sales, Marketing, and executive leadership
- Excellent communication and storytelling instincts — you know how to position a co-marketing ask and navigate customer sensitivities
- Comfort with CRM systems (Salesforce experience a plus) and managing complex pipelines
- Ability to operate autonomously across a global, matrixed organization
- A strategic mindset with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Experience with regulated industries, large enterprise accounts, or F500 logos is a plus
- Strong understanding of organizational communications, particularly in times of change or transformation

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Customer Marketing Lead
Align your credentials to PERM job requirements
PERM certification ties your green card to the specific degree and experience the employer lists in the job description. Make sure your marketing degree, customer lifecycle experience, and any CRM certifications match the posted requirements exactly before the employer files.
Target employers with active EB sponsorship history
Search DOL PERM disclosure data to identify companies that have previously sponsored Customer Marketing Lead or senior customer marketing roles. Repeat PERM filers already understand the process, which shortens negotiation time considerably.
Use Migrate Mate to surface sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate filters Customer Marketing Lead openings by green card sponsorship history, so you avoid applying to companies with no EB filing track record. Run searches by metro area to prioritize realistic targets in your preferred market.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility before accepting an offer
If your role requires an advanced marketing degree or specialized customer strategy expertise, ask the employer whether they intend to file under EB-2. EB-2 priority date movement is often faster for certain nationalities and directly affects how long you wait for a visa number.
Get your priority date protected during employer negotiations
Once an employer agrees to sponsor you, confirm in writing that they will file the PERM application promptly. Delays between your start date and the PERM filing push back your priority date, which controls when you can file for adjustment of status.
Verify prevailing wage compliance using OFLC Wage Search
Your employer must pay the DOL-certified prevailing wage for the Customer Marketing Lead occupation in your work location. Cross-check the offered salary against OFLC Wage Search before the PERM is filed; a wage below the certified level forces the employer to refile.
Green Card Customer Marketing Lead: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Customer Marketing Lead role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Customer Marketing Lead positions qualify under EB-3 as professional roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business. If the employer requires an advanced degree or the role involves highly specialized customer strategy work, EB-2 may apply. The PERM job description must accurately reflect the actual minimum requirements, and USCIS will evaluate whether those requirements are genuinely necessary for the position.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to lawful permanent residency rather than a temporary status with renewal cycles. There is no annual lottery for EB-3, and once your priority date is current, the path forward is predictable. The tradeoff is time: PERM labor certification and I-140 adjudication typically add one to two years before you can file for adjustment of status, whereas H-1B visa status can begin in months.
What documents should I prepare before a sponsoring employer files PERM?
Gather official transcripts confirming your marketing or related degree, a detailed resume listing all positions that match the experience requirements in the PERM job description, and any certifications relevant to customer lifecycle tools or CRM platforms you use in the role. If your degree is from outside the U.S., a foreign credential evaluation from a NACES-member agency is typically required to satisfy DOL requirements.
How do I find Customer Marketing Lead jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Most general job boards do not filter by employment-based green card sponsorship history, which means you spend time applying to employers who have never filed a PERM. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting you filter Customer Marketing Lead openings by EB sponsorship track record so you focus on companies already familiar with the PERM and I-140 process.
Can I change employers after my PERM is approved but before I have a green card?
Yes, under AC21 portability you can change to a same or similar occupation after your I-140 has been approved and your I-485 adjustment of status has been pending for at least 180 days. Customer marketing roles often satisfy the same-or-similar test when the new position involves comparable strategy, customer lifecycle, or retention responsibilities. Confirm the occupational match with a qualified immigration attorney before making the move.
