Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an Event Marketing Specialist
Document your degree's field alignment
PERM requires your degree to match the job's educational requirement. A communications or marketing degree supports the specialty occupation argument; a degree in an unrelated field can stall the labor certification even if your experience is strong.
Target employers with dedicated HR infrastructure
Event marketing roles at corporations, convention centers, trade associations, and university systems are far more likely to have the legal and HR capacity to run PERM than small agencies or startups with no prior sponsorship history.
Search green card sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filter by employers who have filed EB-2 or EB-3 labor certifications for marketing roles. Migrate Mate surfaces that filing history so you're applying to companies that have already proven willingness and ability to sponsor.
Ask about prevailing wage before accepting an offer
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your job zone and location throughout the PERM process. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the wage level for Event Marketing Specialist in your target metro before negotiating.
Prepare for the recruitment audit phase
DOL requires employers to run good-faith U.S. recruitment before certifying PERM. You can support your sponsor by providing your job description in precise, duties-based language that accurately reflects the role's specialized requirements.

Find Event Marketing Specialist JobsEvent Marketing Specialist Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Event Marketing Specialist role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Event Marketing Specialist positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers requiring a bachelor's degree. If the role demands an advanced degree or the employer can demonstrate the position requires a master's degree or equivalent, EB-2 is also possible. The determining factor is how the employer defines the minimum educational requirement in the job description used for PERM.
How does EB-3 green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B is a temporary work visa subject to an annual lottery cap, meaning selection isn't guaranteed. EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM is a permanent pathway with no lottery, though it takes longer. The PERM and I-140 process typically runs one to three years before you reach adjustment of status, but the result is lawful permanent residency rather than a status you must renew.
Which employers typically sponsor green cards for event marketing professionals?
Corporations with dedicated event marketing functions, hotel and hospitality chains, convention and conference management companies, and large nonprofits or trade associations are the most common sponsors. These organizations have established HR and legal infrastructure to manage PERM filings. Boutique event agencies rarely sponsor because the cost and administrative burden outweigh the benefit for smaller headcounts.
How can I find Event Marketing Specialist jobs with green card sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for employers with EB-2 or EB-3 labor certification history in marketing roles. General job boards don't filter by sponsorship type or immigration filing history, so you end up applying broadly and discovering late in the process that an employer won't sponsor. Filtering by confirmed sponsorship history up front saves significant time.
What role does O*NET play in the PERM process for event marketing jobs?
O*NET provides the occupation profile that employers and immigration attorneys use to define job duties, required education, and skill level for PERM labor certification. The O*NET classification helps establish that an Event Marketing Specialist role requires a specific degree and specialized knowledge, which strengthens the employer's case during DOL review and reduces the risk of a PERM audit.
