Green Card Group Leader Jobs
Group Leader roles in manufacturing, logistics, and production qualify for employment-based green card sponsorship under EB-2 and EB-3 categories. Employers file a PERM labor certification with the DOL before sponsoring you for permanent residency, and most Group Leader positions meet the skilled-worker threshold for EB-3 without requiring an advanced degree.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Group Leader
Document your supervisory scope precisely
PERM requires the employer to define the job duties accurately. Get your offer letter and internal job description to match exactly, including the number of direct reports, shift coverage, and any cross-functional coordination responsibilities you hold.
Identify employers with active PERM filing history
Search the OFLC Wage Search to find employers who have previously filed PERM applications for Group Leader or Production Supervisor roles. Past filings signal a legal team already familiar with the sponsorship process for this job category.
Clarify whether your role qualifies as EB-2 or EB-3
Most Group Leader roles fall under EB-3 skilled worker. If your employer requires a bachelor's degree and your duties involve advanced analysis or program management, ask whether an EB-2 filing is defensible before the I-140 is submitted to USCIS.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsoring employers
Search Group Leader jobs on Migrate Mate to surface employers with documented green card sponsorship history. Filtering by sponsorship status upfront saves weeks of outreach to companies whose HR teams have no PERM infrastructure in place.
Prepare for the prevailing wage determination step
Before PERM begins, your employer must request a prevailing wage determination from the DOL. Your title, location, and listed duties all affect the wage level assigned, so confirm the job description reflects your actual senior-level responsibilities accurately.
Negotiate green card sponsorship timing during the offer stage
Many employers wait until after a probationary period to file. Push to have a sponsorship start date written into your employment agreement before accepting, since PERM processing alone can take six months to over a year at the DOL.
Green Card Group Leader: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Group Leader roles typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Group Leader positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers, since the role typically requires at least two years of training or experience but not necessarily an advanced degree. EB-2 may apply if the employer requires a bachelor's degree and the role involves significant analytical or managerial complexity. Your employer's attorney will determine the correct category based on the actual job duties and minimum requirements listed in the PERM application.
How does PERM-based green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for Group Leaders?
H-1B visa is a temporary work visa tied to annual caps and a lottery, while PERM leads to permanent residency with no annual cap at the EB-3 skilled-worker level for most countries. The PERM process requires the employer to conduct a formal recruitment campaign proving no qualified U.S. workers are available, which takes several months before the I-140 is even filed with USCIS. The total timeline is longer than H-1B, but the outcome is a green card rather than a renewable temporary status.
What does the PERM recruitment process look like for a Group Leader position?
Your employer must run DOL-prescribed job advertisements, including Sunday newspaper ads and an internal job posting, and document that no minimally qualified U.S. applicants were passed over. The job description used in those ads must match the PERM application exactly. Any discrepancy between advertised duties and the filed application can trigger an audit, delaying your case by a year or more.
Where can I find Group Leader jobs that already offer green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for employers with active employment-based green card sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never run a PERM process. Targeting employers with existing PERM infrastructure for Group Leader or similar supervisory roles significantly reduces the risk of a sponsorship commitment falling through after you've accepted an offer.
Can I switch employers after my PERM is approved but before I get my green card?
Once your I-140 petition is approved and you've been in the adjustment of status process for at least 180 days, portability rules under AC21 may allow you to change to a same or similar occupation without restarting the green card process. Group Leader roles share SOC codes with Production Supervisor and Operations Supervisor positions, so a lateral move within supervisory manufacturing or logistics work is often defensible. Confirm with your new employer's attorney before accepting any offer.
