Security Program Manager Green Card Jobs
Security Program Manager roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field. Employers initiate the PERM labor certification through DOL before filing an I-140 petition, making sponsorship a multi-stage commitment that typically takes two to four years for most nationalities.

Target employers with active PERM filings
Search the OFLC Wage Search to find companies that have filed PERM applications for security management roles. Defense contractors, cloud infrastructure firms, and financial institutions file most frequently and already have established immigration workflows.
Verify the role's prevailing wage tier early
Your offered salary must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your specific location and job zone. Security Program Manager roles often land in Wage Level III or IV, so confirm this using OFLC Wage Search before negotiating your offer to avoid a costly re-determination later.
Distinguish EB-2 from EB-3 before accepting an offer
If the employer writes the job description to require a master's degree, the petition qualifies under EB-2 and may offer a shorter wait for many nationalities. Discuss this with your employer's immigration counsel before the PERM posting begins, since the category is locked in at that stage.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Filter Security Program Manager openings by green card sponsorship history on Migrate Mate. You'll surface employers whose I-140 filings show a real track record with EB-2 and EB-3 petitions rather than relying on job postings that vaguely mention sponsorship eligibility.
Confirm the recruitment period timing with your employer
PERM requires employers to complete a mandatory recruitment period before DOL will accept the application. Ask HR when that process starts, since delays between your hire date and PERM filing affect your priority date and the overall timeline to permanent residency.

Find Security Program Manager JobsSecurity Program Manager Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Security Program Manager role typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Both categories are possible depending on how the employer writes the job requirements. If the position requires a master's degree or its equivalent in a security-related field, the role can qualify under EB-2. A bachelor's degree requirement places it under EB-3 as a professional. The employer's legal team sets this when drafting the PERM job description, so it's worth clarifying before the process begins.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B sponsorship is temporary, subject to an annual lottery, and must be renewed every few years. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 is permanent and has no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most nationalities. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification alone takes six to eighteen months, and the full process typically runs two to four years or more depending on your country of birth.
What does the PERM process require from the employer specifically?
The employer must conduct a formal recruitment campaign for the role, document that no qualified U.S. workers applied, and file the PERM application with DOL. For a Security Program Manager position, the job duties and minimum requirements in the posting become legally binding for the life of the green card. Any significant change to the role after PERM approval can require restarting the process.
Where can I find Security Program Manager jobs with active green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Security Program Manager roles by employers with verified EB-2 and EB-3 filing history, so you can focus on companies that have sponsored similar positions before rather than those that only claim to be open to sponsorship. Checking employer PERM and I-140 track records before applying saves significant time in the search process.
Can I change employers while my green card is being processed?
Yes, but the rules differ by stage. If your I-140 has been approved for 180 days or more and your I-485 is pending, AC21 portability may allow you to move to a substantially similar role without restarting the process. For Security Program Manager positions, USCIS evaluates whether the new role's duties and requirements are comparable to those in the approved I-140 petition.
