Green Card Senior C Developer Jobs
Senior C Developer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, where your employer documents that no qualified U.S. worker is available before filing an I-140 immigrant petition. Systems programming and embedded development experience strengthens both the prevailing wage determination and your overall sponsorship case.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Senior C Developer
Document your systems-level C expertise early
Compile evidence of low-level programming work: kernel modules, embedded firmware, memory management code, and performance benchmarks. PERM job descriptions for Senior C Developer roles often specify narrow technical requirements, and your credentials need to match them precisely.
Target employers with active PERM filings
Search the OFLC Wage Search and DOL disclosure data for employers who have filed PERM applications under SOC code 15-1252 or 15-1299 for C developer roles. Prior PERM activity signals an established sponsorship workflow, not a first-time process.
Understand how EB-3 differs from H-1B sponsorship
Unlike H-1B visa, PERM-based green card sponsorship has no annual lottery and leads to permanent residency. The tradeoff is a longer timeline, typically two to four years for most countries, before your priority date becomes current.
Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsoring employers
Sort Senior C Developer listings by green card sponsorship history using Migrate Mate, which surfaces employers with verified PERM and I-140 filing records so you spend time on roles with a real path to permanent residency.
Clarify the prevailing wage tier before accepting offers
DOL assigns prevailing wage levels based on your job duties and location. A Senior C Developer role priced at Level I or II may create problems at the I-140 stage if your responsibilities align with Level III or IV work.
Ask about concurrent I-485 filing eligibility
If your priority date is current when your I-140 is approved, you can file for adjustment of status at the same time, shortening your wait considerably. Confirm this with your employer's immigration counsel before signing an offer.
Green Card Senior C Developer: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior C Developer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Senior C Developer positions typically qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. EB-2 applies if the role requires an advanced degree or your credentials meet the national interest waiver standard. Most employer-sponsored PERM cases for this title proceed under EB-3, which still leads to full permanent residency.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a Senior C Developer?
H-1B is a temporary work authorization renewed in three-year increments with no guarantee of permanence. PERM-based green card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 leads to lawful permanent residency. There is no annual lottery at the EB-3 level, though the overall timeline is longer: PERM certification, I-140 approval, and adjustment of status can take two to four years depending on your country of birth and visa bulletin movement.
What does the PERM process look like for a Senior C Developer role?
Your employer files a PERM application with DOL after conducting a supervised recruitment test to confirm no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. The job requirements in the PERM must reflect what the position genuinely needs, not inflated credentials. Once DOL certifies the PERM, your employer files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS, which establishes your priority date for the green card queue.
How can I find Senior C Developer jobs with green card sponsorship?
Standard job boards do not filter by verified PERM or I-140 filing history, so you often waste time on roles where sponsorship is theoretical rather than established. Migrate Mate lets you search Senior C Developer listings by employer green card sponsorship history, surfacing companies that have successfully filed PERM applications for comparable roles rather than those that merely say they are open to sponsorship.
Can my employer start the PERM process while I am on H-1B status?
Yes, and starting PERM early is strategically sound. Filing before your fifth year of H-1B status allows you to extend your H-1B in one-year increments beyond the standard six-year cap under AC21 provisions, as long as your PERM or I-140 has been pending for at least 365 days. USCIS governs these extensions, so confirm your timeline with your employer's immigration counsel well before your sixth year.
