Senior Cybersecurity Engineer Green Card Jobs
Senior Cybersecurity Engineer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document their recruitment efforts before filing an I-140 immigrant petition. Roles involving network defense, threat detection, or security architecture consistently meet the specialty occupation standard that supports permanent residency sponsorship.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer
Translate certifications into PERM-ready credentials
CISSP, CISM, and CEH certifications strengthen your PERM file when your employer lists them as minimum requirements in the job description. Get official transcripts and certification verification letters ready before the labor certification audit window opens.
Search employers using DOL LCA filing history
Use the OFLC Wage Search to identify companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for cybersecurity roles. Employers who consistently file LCAs for security engineers are far more likely to have established PERM pipelines than those sponsoring for the first time.
Find sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate by job title and green card sponsorship history to surface companies actively sponsoring Senior Cybersecurity Engineers through EB-2 or EB-3. This filters out roles where sponsorship is possible in theory but rarely happens in practice.
Clarify the EB-2 versus EB-3 track early
If your employer drafts the job description to require only a bachelor's degree, the role lands in EB-3. Negotiate for an advanced degree or equivalent requirement in the posting if your credentials support EB-2, since EB-2 priority dates move faster for most nationalities.
Verify your employer's E-Verify enrollment before signing
Employers must be enrolled in E-Verify to participate in PERM-based sponsorship at many federal contractor and regulated sites. Cybersecurity roles at defense contractors or critical infrastructure companies almost always require E-Verify enrollment, so confirm this during the offer negotiation stage.

Find Senior Cybersecurity Engineer JobsSenior Cybersecurity Engineer Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Senior Cybersecurity Engineer positions qualify for both EB-2 and EB-3, depending on how the employer writes the minimum requirements. EB-2 applies when the role requires an advanced degree or the equivalent in education and experience. EB-3 applies when a bachelor's degree is the stated minimum. The O*NET classification for information security analysts designates this as a Job Zone 4 occupation, which consistently supports the specialty occupation standard USCIS uses to evaluate the underlying role.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B sponsorship gives you temporary status in three-year increments and is subject to an annual cap and lottery. Green card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is a permanent immigration benefit with no annual visa cap at the individual petition level. The PERM process requires your employer to conduct a formal DOL-supervised recruitment before filing, which adds time upfront but leads to lawful permanent residency rather than a renewable temporary status.
How long does the PERM and green card process take for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer?
PERM labor certification currently takes roughly 12 to 18 months at DOL, not counting any audit delays. After PERM approval, your employer files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS, which takes several additional months without premium processing. For applicants from countries with retrogressed priority dates, the total wait from PERM filing to a green card can extend significantly longer. Your country of birth, not citizenship, determines which priority date applies to your case.
What documentation should I prepare before a cybersecurity employer starts the PERM process?
Gather your academic transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations if your credential is from outside the United States, employment verification letters covering every position you've held, and copies of active certifications such as CISSP or CISM. Your employer's immigration counsel will use these to build the prevailing wage determination and draft the PERM job description. Missing or unverified credentials are one of the most common reasons DOL issues an audit notice.
How can I find Senior Cybersecurity Engineer jobs that specifically offer green card sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to filter Senior Cybersecurity Engineer roles by employers with documented EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship history. Many job postings describe sponsorship as possible without confirming the employer has actually gone through PERM before. Migrate Mate surfaces companies with active green card filing records so you can target your applications toward employers who have a real track record of seeing the process through to approval.
