You will collaborate closely with MMA’s architectural teams to develop coordinated, efficient solutions while maintaining client standards and project schedules. Travel may occasionally be required to evaluate existing conditions and conduct site surveys. This role offers the opportunity to help build and shape MMA’s in-house MEP capabilities while supporting a growing portfolio of national clients and programs.

- Experience coordinating electrical power and lighting, plumbing, and associated building systems across MEP disciplines
- High level of proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD
- Strong working knowledge of applicable mechanical, electrical, plumbing, energy, and building codes and standards
- Ability to evaluate existing conditions and develop practical solutions for the reuse, modification, or replacement of existing building systems
- Experience preparing permit and construction documents and responding to jurisdictional plan review comments
- Experience with construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, field observations, and contractor coordination
- Strong communication and coordination skills with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, vendors, and permitting authorities
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Experience in retail, healthcare, restaurant/QSR, commercial interiors, or other multi-location programs strongly preferred

Translate your MEP credentials for PERM
Gather degree transcripts, professional engineering licenses, and project documentation that map directly to the SOC code your employer will use in the PERM labor certification. A mismatch between your stated qualifications and the job description is one of the most common audit triggers for MEP roles.
Target firms with active PERM filing history
Large mechanical and electrical subcontractors, engineering-procurement-construction firms, and facilities management companies routinely sponsor MEP project managers through PERM. Focus your search on employers who have filed for similar roles before, since they already understand the recruitment and documentation requirements.
Verify prevailing wage before accepting an offer
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for your specific SOC code and work location before negotiating. DOL requires your offered salary to meet or exceed that threshold, and employers who underpay at offer stage will need to restructure compensation before PERM filing can proceed.
Search sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Senior MEP project manager openings by employers with documented green card sponsorship activity. Identifying companies that have already navigated PERM for engineering roles saves you from approaching employers who are unfamiliar with the process.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility with your employer
If the role requires a master's degree or equivalent, your employer can file under EB-2, which can shorten your overall wait if your priority date is current. If the position requires only a bachelor's degree, EB-3 is the appropriate category, and for many countries outside India and China, priority dates are current.
Negotiate PERM filing timing into your offer
Ask your employer to commit to starting the PERM recruitment process within a defined period after your start date. DOL requires that recruitment be conducted at the time of filing, so delays on the employer side directly push back your I-140 petition and eventual green card approval.
Green Card Senior Mep Project Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Senior MEP project manager role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Both categories are available depending on how the employer defines the minimum requirements for the role. EB-2 applies when the position genuinely requires a master's degree or the equivalent in a specialized engineering field. EB-3 covers positions requiring a bachelor's degree. Your employer's PERM labor certification must reflect the actual minimum qualifications, not inflated requirements designed to favor your specific background.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B visa is a temporary work visa requiring annual renewal, subject to lottery selection, and does not lead to permanent residency on its own. PERM-based EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship is a permanent pathway with no annual lottery. For nationals of most countries, EB-3 priority dates are current, meaning the I-485 adjustment of status can proceed without a long backlog after the I-140 is approved.
What documentation should I prepare before a sponsoring employer begins PERM?
Compile your degree transcripts, any professional engineering licenses such as a PE license, project portfolios that demonstrate MEP coordination experience, and reference letters tied to specific project outcomes. DOL audits of PERM applications for engineering management roles frequently target whether the employer's stated minimum requirements are genuinely tied to business necessity, so your credentials need to align precisely with the posted job description.
How can I find Senior MEP project manager jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search for Senior MEP project manager openings filtered by employers with verified green card sponsorship activity. Many MEP firms are willing to sponsor but do not advertise it explicitly in job postings, so targeting companies with a documented PERM filing history for engineering roles significantly improves your chances of finding a match.
How long does the green card process typically take for this role?
The PERM labor certification alone takes DOL several months to process under standard review, or longer if selected for audit. After an approved PERM, your employer files the I-140 petition with USCIS, which adds additional months. For most nationalities, EB-3 priority dates are current, so adjustment of status can begin immediately after I-140 approval, putting total timelines in the range of one to two years under standard processing.
