Solutions Consultant Green Card Jobs
Solutions Consultant roles sit squarely within EB-2 and EB-3 specialty occupation categories, making PERM labor certification the standard sponsorship path. Employers document that no qualified U.S. worker is available before filing your I-140 petition, putting your credentials and the role's degree requirements at the center of the case.

Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
PERM approval depends on proving the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Frame your degree and any specialized certifications around the technical and consultative nature of the position, not general business skills.
Request your prevailing wage category upfront
Before signing an offer, ask the employer which DOL wage level they intend to certify. Solutions Consultant roles frequently land at Level II or III in the OFLC Wage Search, and the certified wage locks in for the life of your PERM case.
Target employers with active PERM filing histories
Mid-size and enterprise software, SaaS, and professional services firms routinely sponsor Solutions Consultants through PERM. Use Migrate Mate to filter for employers who have filed green card cases for this occupation rather than cold-applying to companies with no sponsorship record.
Distinguish your role from general sales positions
USCIS and DOL scrutinize whether Solutions Consultant duties are genuinely technical or merely sales-adjacent. Document pre-sales engineering tasks, product architecture work, and client integration responsibilities to support the specialty occupation argument in your PERM filing.
Prepare a detailed job duties letter for the I-140 stage
After PERM certification, your employer's I-140 petition needs a duties letter that maps your Solutions Consultant responsibilities to the O*NET occupation profile. Gaps between the certified job description and actual duties are a common RFE trigger.

Find Solutions Consultant JobsSolutions Consultant Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Solutions Consultant role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Solutions Consultant positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers requiring a bachelor's degree, though roles with advanced technical or managerial components can qualify under EB-2 if the employer documents an advanced-degree requirement. The determining factor is how the position's minimum requirements are written in the PERM application, not the job title itself.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for Solutions Consultants?
H-1B sponsorship is temporary and subject to annual cap lottery risk. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 leads to permanent residency with no annual renewals once approved. There's no lottery at the EB-3 level, though nationals from India and China face priority date backlogs. The PERM process also obligates the employer to pay prevailing wage and conduct a formal recruitment test before filing.
How long does PERM labor certification take for a Solutions Consultant role?
DOL currently processes most PERM applications in the analyst review track, which has been running well over a year. Audit-selected cases take longer. After PERM certification, USCIS adjudicates the I-140 petition, which adds several additional months under standard processing. Building at least two to three years of total lead time into your planning is realistic for most countries.
Where can I find Solutions Consultant jobs with green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for employment-based green card job searches. You can filter by occupation and sponsorship history to find employers who have filed PERM cases for Solutions Consultant and similar roles, saving time you'd otherwise spend researching individual companies' sponsorship track records.
Can I change employers after my PERM is filed?
You can change employers, but PERM is tied to the sponsoring company, so that filing is abandoned. However, if your I-140 has been approved for at least 180 days, AC21 portability lets you transfer that approved petition to a new employer in a same or similar role without losing your priority date. Retaining your priority date matters most if you're from a backlogged country.
