Green Card Systems Integration Specialist Jobs
Systems Integration Specialist roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the position. Employers in defense contracting, healthcare IT, and enterprise software regularly file PERM for these roles due to sustained domestic talent shortages.

Document your systems integration project history
PERM audits frequently request evidence that your experience matches the job's requirements. Compile signed project summaries, architecture diagrams, and client acceptance records that map directly to the SOC 15-1299 job zone before your employer files.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Defense primes, large hospital systems, and ERP implementation firms file PERM for Systems Integration Specialists at higher rates than generalist IT shops. Search Migrate Mate to filter roles by employers with documented green card sponsorship activity in this occupation.
Verify your degree field against PERM requirements
DOL requires the employer to specify an exact minimum qualification in the PERM job description. If your degree is in a tangential field like electrical engineering rather than computer science, confirm with your employer that their job description language will accommodate your credential before filing begins.
Clarify your EB-2 versus EB-3 category early
EB-2 requires a master's degree or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive experience in systems integration. EB-3 covers bachelor's-level professionals. Your category affects priority date queues, so confirm your classification with your employer's counsel before USCIS submits the I-140.
Ask about concurrent I-485 filing eligibility
If your priority date is current when the I-140 is approved, you can file for adjustment of status simultaneously rather than waiting. For EB-3 applicants from most countries outside India and China, this concurrent filing path is often available and shortens your wait for work authorization.
Confirm your employer's prevailing wage compliance
DOL uses the OFLC Wage Search to set the wage level your employer must pay throughout the PERM process and beyond. Request the wage determination your employer received and verify it matches the Level II or Level III wage appropriate for your integration seniority before the application goes in.
Green Card Systems Integration Specialist: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Systems Integration Specialist role typically qualify as a specialty occupation for green card purposes?
Yes. Systems integration work requires a theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge, typically a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or engineering. DOL and USCIS consistently classify this occupation under SOC 15-1299, which sits in Job Zone 4 on O*NET, supporting both EB-2 and EB-3 petition approval.
How does green card sponsorship through PERM differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B visa is a temporary status with a three-year initial period, an annual lottery, and no path to permanence on its own. PERM-based green card sponsorship has no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most nationalities, no lottery, and results in lawful permanent residency rather than a temporary authorization. The trade-off is a longer overall timeline, typically three to five years from PERM filing to I-485 approval for non-backlogged countries.
Which industries are most likely to sponsor a Systems Integration Specialist for a green card?
Defense contractors, federal IT services firms, hospital and healthcare network operators, and large-scale ERP implementation consultancies file PERM for Systems Integration Specialists at the highest rates. These employers face persistent hiring gaps for professionals who can bridge legacy infrastructure with modern platforms, which satisfies the DOL market test that underpins every PERM application.
Where can I find Systems Integration Specialist jobs where the employer is already open to green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by employers with employment-based green card sponsorship history, so you're not cold-applying and hoping the subject comes up. Searching by this occupation on Migrate Mate surfaces roles where PERM sponsorship is an established part of the employer's hiring practice, not a one-off exception they need to be convinced to attempt.
Can I switch employers after my PERM is filed but before my green card is approved?
Changing employers after PERM approval but before I-485 approval is possible under AC21 portability if your I-140 has been approved and your I-485 has been pending for at least 180 days, and the new role is in the same or a similar occupational classification. Switching before the I-140 is approved typically requires restarting the PERM process with the new employer.
