Green Card VP Of Product Jobs
VP of Product roles qualify for EB-2 sponsorship when the position requires an advanced degree in a specialized field, and for EB-3 when a bachelor's degree is the standard requirement. Employers sponsor permanent residency through PERM labor certification, filing an I-140 once DOL certifies the role. Finding companies with active green card sponsorship history is the critical first step.

Document your advanced degree alignment
PERM requires the employer to prove the VP of Product role genuinely needs an advanced degree. Your master's in computer science, business, or a related field strengthens the EB-2 classification and reduces the risk of a DOL audit.
Target companies with PERM filing history
Not every tech or product-led company sponsors green cards. Filter your search to employers who have filed PERM applications for product leadership roles before. DOL's OFLC disclosure data shows which companies have done this and at what seniority level.
Search green card jobs on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate surfaces VP of Product openings specifically at companies with active EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship history, so you're not guessing which employers will sponsor permanent residency for senior product roles.
Clarify sponsorship scope before signing
Some employers sponsor H-1B visa transfers but draw the line at green card filing. During offer negotiations, confirm the company will initiate PERM, cover I-140 fees, and support adjustment of status through your green card approval, not just your current visa period.
Verify the prevailing wage tier for your level
PERM locks in a wage requirement based on DOL's OFLC Wage Search for your job zone and metro area. VP of Product typically falls in wage level III or IV. Confirm the employer's offered salary meets or exceeds the certified prevailing wage before PERM is filed.
Use your O*NET profile to anchor the PERM job description
DOL scrutinizes whether the PERM job description matches a bona fide VP of Product role. Referencing the O*NET occupation profile for your specific SOC code helps your employer's attorney draft duties that align with what DOL expects for this seniority level.
Green Card VP Of Product: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a VP of Product role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most VP of Product positions qualify for EB-2 because employers typically require a master's degree or a bachelor's degree plus significant progressive experience in product management. If the role's minimum requirement is a bachelor's degree, it may fall under EB-3. The PERM job description your employer files with DOL determines which category applies, so the drafting of that document matters significantly.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for a VP of Product?
H-1B is a temporary nonimmigrant status tied to employer approval periods, while PERM-based green card sponsorship leads to permanent residency with no renewal cycle. Green card sponsorship has no annual lottery for EB-2 or EB-3 (though country-of-birth backlogs affect wait times for some nationalities). PERM takes longer upfront than an H-1B transfer, often 12 to 24 months from PERM filing to I-140 approval, but the outcome is permanent.
How do I find VP of Product jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It filters VP of Product roles by companies with documented EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship history, so you can focus your applications on employers who have already committed to the PERM process for product leadership positions rather than hoping a company will agree to sponsor after you apply.
Can I switch employers after my PERM is filed but before my green card is approved?
Changing employers after PERM filing but before I-140 approval typically restarts the entire PERM process with the new company. Once your I-140 is approved and your priority date is current or has been pending for over 180 days, portability rules under AC21 allow you to change to a same or similar role without losing your place in the queue. For VP of Product, the role at the new employer must be comparable in duties and level.
What does the PERM labor certification process look like for a VP of Product position?
Your employer files the PERM application with DOL after completing a mandatory recruitment period showing no qualified U.S. workers were available for the role. DOL then either certifies the application or selects it for audit. For senior product roles, audit risk is real because the duties must match what DOL's OFLC Wage Search expects for that occupation code. Once PERM is certified, USCIS reviews the I-140 immigrant petition, which establishes your priority date for permanent residency.
