Growth Product Manager Jobs in Illinois: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a growth product manager in Illinois?
The most direct path into a growth product manager role in Illinois is a bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or a quantitative field combined with hands-on experience in product analytics or digital marketing. Illinois does not require a state-issued license for this role. Chicago's dense tech and fintech ecosystem means many employers value demonstrated experimentation skills and portfolio work over credentials alone, so building a record of measurable product outcomes is the practical credential that matters most.
How much do growth product managers make in Illinois?
Growth product managers in Illinois earn a median of about $162,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $95,990 for the lowest 10% to over $276,340 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire growth product managers in Illinois?
Employers hiring growth product managers in Illinois right now include BCU, Point B, and Scribd, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Illinois's concentration of fintech, enterprise software, and e-commerce headquarters in and around Chicago means product teams here frequently own growth charters that cut across acquisition, activation, and retention.
Which Illinois cities have the most growth product manager jobs?
Chicago and Vernon Hills have the most growth product manager openings in Illinois. Chicago accounts for the large majority of postings because it is home to the headquarters and major product offices of the state's largest technology, fintech, and e-commerce companies, while suburban hubs like Naperville and Evanston contribute openings tied to enterprise software and research-driven organizations based outside the city core.
Are there remote growth product manager jobs in Illinois?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of growth product manager openings tied to Illinois are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how naturally the role fits distributed work. The portions of the job most commonly done fully remotely are data analysis, roadmap planning, and async stakeholder communication, while sprint ceremonies and cross-functional alignment sessions more often draw teams together in person.
How can I get hired as a growth product manager in Illinois with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an associate or junior product manager program at a Chicago-area technology company, where employers like Morningstar and Grubhub periodically run structured rotational or APM programs for early-career candidates. Lateral moves from Illinois-based roles in digital marketing, business analysis, or UX research are also common ways in. Building a portfolio that documents a self-run growth experiment, even a side project, and earning a certification in product analytics gives candidates a concrete edge when competing against applicants without prior PM titles.
Where can I find and apply to growth product manager jobs in Illinois?
