Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Channel Manager
Verify your degree aligns with the role
USCIS requires a direct relationship between your degree field and the Channel Manager position. A marketing, business administration, or communications degree supports most petitions. A degree in an unrelated field can trigger an RFE even at experienced employers.
Search LCA filings for sponsoring employers
Filter OFLC disclosure data by SOC code 11-2021 (Marketing Managers) to find companies that have filed H-1B petitions for channel or partner management roles. This tells you who has sponsored before, not just who claims to be open to it.
Target technology vendors over pure resellers
SaaS and hardware vendors typically have dedicated HR and immigration infrastructure that resellers or channel-only distributors lack. Vendors filing H-1B petitions for channel roles appear in DOL disclosure data with job titles like Channel Account Manager or Partner Development Manager.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified H-1B employers
Search Channel Manager roles on Migrate Mate to see employers filtered by actual LCA filing history. This removes guesswork about which companies will sponsor and focuses your applications on verified H-1B petitioners in partner and channel management.
Clarify the prevailing wage tier before negotiating
Look up the prevailing wage for SOC code 11-2021 in your metro area using the OFLC Wage Search before any offer discussion. Your offered salary must meet the DOL wage level your employer certifies on the LCA, and mismatches delay or invalidate the petition.
Ask about I-129 filing timelines before signing
Channel Manager roles are cap-subject, so your employer must file Form I-129 during the April filing window for an October 1 start. Confirm the employer has used an immigration attorney before and understands the cap-subject timeline before you accept an offer.
H-1B Visa Channel Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Channel Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, provided the employer's job description requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as business, marketing, communications, or a related discipline. The role must not accept any bachelor's degree regardless of field. USCIS scrutinizes channel and partner management roles closely, so the job posting and internal job description must state a degree requirement, not just a preference.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most often for Channel Manager positions?
Technology vendors, SaaS companies, cybersecurity firms, and telecommunications providers file H-1B petitions for channel roles at the highest rates. These employers have established partner programs and immigration support infrastructure. You can confirm sponsorship history by checking DOL LCA disclosure data or using Migrate Mate to browse Channel Manager roles filtered by verified H-1B filing activity.
Can a Channel Manager on H-1B status switch employers mid-petition year?
Yes. H-1B portability under AC21 lets you start working for a new employer as soon as they file a new H-1B transfer petition, provided your current petition has been approved and you've maintained valid status. The new employer files a cap-exempt transfer, so you don't re-enter the lottery. Notify your current employer according to your contract terms.
What job title variations still qualify for H-1B sponsorship in channel management?
Titles like Channel Account Manager, Partner Development Manager, Regional Channel Manager, Alliance Manager, and Indirect Sales Manager generally fall under SOC code 11-2021 and qualify for H-1B sponsorship when the role requires a specific bachelor's degree. The O*NET profile for this occupation confirms the typical education and skill requirements USCIS references during adjudication.
How does the LCA prevailing wage requirement affect Channel Manager offers?
Before filing your H-1B petition, your employer certifies a Labor Condition Application with DOL that includes your offered wage. That wage must meet the prevailing wage for the Channel Manager role in your specific work location, verified through the OFLC Wage Search. If the offer falls below the certified wage, the petition is defective and USCIS will issue an RFE or denial.
