Verify your degree aligns with compliance
USCIS requires your degree field to directly relate to compliance program management. A business, law, finance, or risk management degree supports the specialty occupation claim. A general liberal arts degree may trigger an RFE without supplemental credentials.
Search LCA filings by SOC code
Compliance Program Managers file under SOC code 13-1041 on Labor Condition Applications. Filter DOL's OFLC disclosure data by this code to identify which employers have filed recently, giving you a verified list of active H-1B sponsors in this specific role.
Target regulated industries with mandatory compliance functions
Financial services, healthcare, and defense contractors are legally required to maintain compliance programs, making their sponsorship history more consistent than discretionary roles. Employers in these sectors file LCAs for compliance positions even in hiring slowdowns.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsors
Migrate Mate surfaces employer LCA filing history by occupation code, so you can see exactly which companies have sponsored Compliance Program Manager roles. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to employers who've never filed for this position.
Prepare a specialty occupation justification memo
Compliance Program Manager is a documented specialty occupation under O*NET, but USCIS RFEs on this title are common when job duties overlap with general management. Ask your employer's attorney to document why the specific role requires a compliance-field degree, not just any bachelor's degree.

Find Compliance Program Manager JobsCompliance Program Manager H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Compliance Program Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B?
Yes. Compliance Program Manager positions qualify as specialty occupations when the employer can demonstrate the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as business administration, law, finance, or risk management. Roles with vague duty statements or that accept any degree field are more vulnerable to USCIS RFEs challenging specialty occupation status.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for Compliance Program Manager positions?
Financial institutions, hospital systems, government contractors, and multinational corporations in heavily regulated industries sponsor H-1B visas for compliance roles most consistently. These employers maintain dedicated compliance departments and file LCAs even outside general hiring cycles. Migrate Mate shows verified LCA filing history by employer and occupation code, so you can identify active sponsors before applying.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new employer for a Compliance Program Manager role?
Yes. H-1B portability under AC21 allows you to transfer to a new employer once your petition has been pending for 180 days, as long as the new role is in the same or similar occupational classification. The new employer files an H-1B transfer petition, and you can begin work as soon as USCIS receives it, without waiting for approval.
What prevailing wage level applies to Compliance Program Manager H-1B filings?
Most Compliance Program Manager positions are filed at DOL wage Level II or Level III, depending on the scope of supervisory responsibility and program complexity. Employers certify the offered wage meets or exceeds the prevailing wage for the SOC code and geographic area. You can check current prevailing wage benchmarks for your metro area using the OFLC Wage Search tool.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take for a Compliance Program Manager job?
From offer acceptance to H-1B approval, the process typically runs three to six months under standard processing, or two to four weeks with premium processing. The employer's DOL LCA certification adds roughly seven business days before the USCIS petition can be filed. Cap-subject petitions are also subject to the annual lottery, which runs in March for an October 1 start date.
