Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Enterprise Architect
Align your credentials to SOC 15-1299
Enterprise Architect maps to SOC code 15-1299 in DOL filings. Confirm your resume titles and degree field match this classification before applying, since mismatches between your stated role and the LCA job code can trigger an RFE.
Search LCA filings by occupation code
Use Migrate Mate to filter H-1B employer history by occupation code so you see which companies have actively filed LCAs for Enterprise Architect roles, not just general IT positions. That distinction matters when evaluating sponsorship likelihood.
Target STEM-heavy industries with cap-exempt employers
Universities, nonprofit research institutions, and government contractors are cap-exempt H-1B employers. Enterprise Architect roles exist in all three sectors, and cap-exempt filing means you skip the lottery entirely and can start any time of year.
Verify prevailing wage before salary negotiations
Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your metro area and experience level. Run the OFLC Wage Search for SOC 15-1299 in your target city before your offer discussion so you know the floor.
Request premium processing when timelines are tight
If your current status has a hard end date, ask your prospective employer to file Form I-907 with USCIS for premium processing. It cuts adjudication to 15 business days, which matters when you're bridging from OPT or a transfer from another employer.
Document architecture deliverables as specialty occupation evidence
USCIS scrutinizes whether Enterprise Architect roles genuinely require a specific degree. Compile project portfolios, published architecture diagrams, and stakeholder reports that show theoretical and applied knowledge, not just management responsibilities.

Find Enterprise Architect JobsEnterprise Architect H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Enterprise Architect role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes. Enterprise Architect roles qualify under the H-1B specialty occupation definition because they normally require at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a directly related field. The O*NET profile for this occupation lists a Job Zone 4 or 5 rating, which USCIS treats as supporting evidence that theoretical and practical knowledge is required.
Which industries sponsor H-1B visas most often for Enterprise Architects?
Financial services, healthcare systems, federal contracting, and large technology firms file LCAs for Enterprise Architect roles at the highest volume. Federal contractors and universities are particularly valuable targets because they're often cap-exempt, meaning no lottery. Browse verified H-1B filing history by employer on Migrate Mate to see which companies have sponsored this role in your target metro area.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new employer as an Enterprise Architect?
Yes. Under H-1B portability rules, you can start working for a new employer as soon as they file a transfer petition with USCIS, without waiting for approval, as long as you've been in valid H-1B status for at least 180 days. Your new employer files a new I-129 and LCA; you don't restart the six-year H-1B clock.
What does my employer need to file to sponsor my H-1B for this role?
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL first, certifying the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for Enterprise Architect in your work location. Once the LCA is certified, they submit Form I-129 to USCIS. For cap-subject cases, the petition must be registered in the annual H-1B lottery before full filing is possible.
How does the H-1B lottery affect Enterprise Architect job seekers?
Cap-subject employers can only submit H-1B registrations during the March lottery window, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. If you're not selected, cap-exempt employers are your fastest alternative path. Enterprise Architect roles exist at universities and nonprofits that file outside the lottery, making them worth targeting specifically if lottery timing creates a gap.
