Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Global Marketing Manager
Frame your degree for specialty occupation
USCIS requires your degree field to directly relate to global marketing duties. A business or marketing degree is clean. An unrelated degree needs a credential evaluation showing equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's in a relevant discipline.
Search LCA filings for marketing roles
Use the OFLC Wage Search to find employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for marketing manager positions. Companies with active LCA history for this role are far more likely to sponsor your H-1B than cold outreach targets.
Target multinationals with global marketing teams
Companies coordinating campaigns across multiple countries regularly sponsor H-1B holders for global marketing roles. Look for employers with regional marketing hubs in the U.S. where your international market knowledge directly supports their structure.
Verify your SOC code before the LCA
Global Marketing Manager roles typically map to SOC 11-2021 (Advertising and Promotions Managers) or 11-2022 (Marketing Managers). Confirm your O*NET match with your employer before the LCA is filed, since the SOC code determines your prevailing wage level.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsors
Pull DOL LCA disclosure data by occupation code on Migrate Mate to identify employers who have sponsored global marketing roles before. Targeting companies with a filing track record cuts time spent pursuing employers who won't move forward.
Negotiate start date around the cap timeline
Cap-subject H-1B petitions can't start before October 1. If you receive an offer in January, structure your offer letter to reflect an October 1 start date so your employer files during the April registration window without either side waiting in limbo.
H-1B Visa Global Marketing Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Global Marketing Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
Yes, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a closely related field. Roles that accept any degree, regardless of field, can face RFEs. Your employer should document in the I-129 why the specific duties require specialized knowledge tied to your degree.
How do I find employers that have sponsored H-1B visas for marketing manager roles before?
Search DOL LCA disclosure data filtered by marketing-related SOC codes to identify companies with a filing history for these roles. Migrate Mate surfaces this data by employer and occupation so you can prioritize outreach to companies that have already navigated the sponsorship process for global marketing positions.
Can my employer file an H-1B petition for a Global Marketing Manager role outside the annual cap lottery?
Only if your employer qualifies as cap-exempt, such as a university or affiliated nonprofit research organization. Most private-sector employers filing for marketing managers are cap-subject and must participate in the April lottery. Cap-exempt roles are uncommon in global marketing, so most candidates need to plan around the October 1 start date.
What prevailing wage level applies to a Global Marketing Manager on H-1B?
The DOL assigns wage levels based on your SOC code, geographic location, and experience. Global Marketing Managers typically fall at Level II or Level III depending on supervisory scope and years of experience. Your employer must certify the offered wage meets or exceeds the prevailing wage through the LCA before USCIS will process your petition.
What happens to my H-1B status if my global marketing role is restructured or eliminated?
Your H-1B is tied to the specific employer and role on the approved petition. If the role changes materially, such as a shift in duties, title, or work location, your employer may need to file an amended petition before the change takes effect. If your position is eliminated, you have a 60-day grace period to find a new sponsor, transfer your H-1B, or depart the U.S.
