Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Go To Market Strategy
Frame your degree for specialty occupation
USCIS requires a direct connection between your degree field and Go To Market Strategy work. A business, marketing, or economics degree aligns cleanly. If your degree is in an unrelated field, document how coursework applies to strategy, pricing, or market analysis.
Check LCA filings before applying
Use the OFLC Wage Search to verify that a target employer has filed Labor Condition Applications for GTM or adjacent roles like Product Marketing Manager. Prior LCA activity signals an established H-1B sponsorship process, not a first-time experiment.
Target companies with dedicated immigration counsel
Startups without in-house legal teams often stall at the I-129 petition stage for strategy roles. Mid-to-large SaaS and enterprise software companies that use PERM regularly are better positioned to move your H-1B filing forward without delays.
Search verified H-1B sponsors on Migrate Mate
Filter Go To Market Strategy roles by employers with confirmed H-1B filing history using Migrate Mate. This cuts time spent applying to companies that lack the infrastructure or intent to sponsor, so you focus on employers who have done it before.
Negotiate offer timing around the lottery window
H-1B registrations open each March for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer in summer or fall, ask whether the employer will file for the next lottery cycle and clarify whether OPT cap-gap coverage applies to bridge the gap.
Confirm your role's O*NET classification with HR
Ask the hiring manager or HR team which Standard Occupational Classification code they plan to use on your LCA. GTM roles are sometimes filed under Marketing Managers or Management Analysts, and the code affects your prevailing wage tier and petition strength.
H-1B Visa Go To Market Strategy: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Go To Market Strategy role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes, in most cases. USCIS requires the position to normally demand at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. GTM strategy roles at tech and SaaS companies routinely meet this standard under business, marketing, or related disciplines. The stronger the job description ties duties to degree-level analytical or strategic work, the cleaner the specialty occupation argument.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for GTM roles?
Enterprise software, SaaS, and B2B technology companies are the most consistent H-1B sponsors for Go To Market Strategy positions. Consulting firms and digital-native companies with dedicated immigration programs also appear regularly in DOL disclosure data. Use Migrate Mate to search roles filtered by employers with verified H-1B filing history in this category.
How does the prevailing wage requirement affect GTM job offers?
Your employer must certify on the LCA that your salary meets or exceeds the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation code and work location. GTM roles in high-cost metros typically fall into higher wage levels. You can look up applicable wage levels using the OFLC Wage Search before evaluating any offer to understand the floor.
Can I transfer my H-1B to a new GTM employer mid-year?
Yes. H-1B portability under AC21 lets you start working for a new employer as soon as they file an H-1B transfer petition, without waiting for approval. The new employer must file before your current authorized period ends. GTM roles at the new company must still satisfy specialty occupation requirements, so a strong job description matters.
What should I check in a job description before applying for H-1B sponsorship?
Look for explicit degree requirements tied to the role's core duties, such as business strategy, market analysis, or product marketing. Vague descriptions listing a degree as preferred rather than required can weaken the specialty occupation case. Also check whether the employer is E-Verify enrolled, which is required for any H-1B sponsorship and signals a compliant hiring process.
