Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Regional Lead
Align your degree to the role
Regional Lead positions require a bachelor's degree in a directly related field to meet H-1B specialty occupation requirements. Business administration, operations management, or supply chain degrees map cleanly. A general liberal arts degree may trigger an RFE from USCIS.
Research LCA filings by region
Employers must file a separate LCA for each geographic area where you'll work. If the Regional Lead role covers multiple states, confirm your employer understands multi-location LCA obligations before you accept an offer.
Use Migrate Mate to target active sponsors
Filter for employers with verified H-1B LCA filing history in Regional Lead or general management roles on Migrate Mate. This cuts out companies that list sponsorship as a possibility but have no documented DOL filing record.
Check prevailing wage before negotiating
Your offer must meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your job location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level II or Level III wage for your SOC code before entering salary negotiations with a sponsoring employer.
Clarify cap-exempt status with multi-site employers
Regional Leads hired by universities, nonprofits, or government research entities may qualify for cap-exempt H-1B petitions, bypassing the annual lottery entirely. Ask HR whether the entity holds cap-exempt status under INA Section 214(g)(5).
Time your offer against the H-1B registration window
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for an October 1 start. If you receive a Regional Lead offer outside that window, negotiate a start date that lets your employer file during the next registration cycle without losing the role.

Find Regional Lead JobsRegional Lead H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Regional Lead role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. USCIS requires that the role normally require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Regional Lead titles that emphasize strategic planning, multi-site operations, or P&L oversight in a defined discipline typically qualify. Broadly defined general management roles with no degree requirement face higher RFE risk.
How do I find employers who sponsor H-1B visas for Regional Lead roles?
Migrate Mate shows employers with verified DOL LCA filing history filtered by occupation, so you can identify companies that have actively sponsored H-1B workers in management and operations roles. This is more reliable than relying on employer claims during the application process.
What happens to my H-1B status if my Regional Lead territory changes significantly?
A major change in work location or job duties can require an amended H-1B petition filed with USCIS before the change takes effect. If your employer expands your territory into a new metropolitan statistical area, a new LCA must be certified by DOL first. Failing to amend can create compliance problems for both you and your employer.
Can a Regional Lead role support a green card application down the line?
Yes, Regional Lead positions can support an employment-based green card through the EB-2 or EB-3 category. The employer would typically need to run a PERM labor certification first unless the role qualifies for a National Interest Waiver. Your specific career track and the employer's resources will determine which path is realistic.
What should I check in an H-1B offer letter for a Regional Lead position?
Confirm that the offer letter specifies the exact work location, job duties tied to a defined field of study, and a salary at or above the DOL prevailing wage for that location. Vague duty descriptions or multi-state territory language without LCA planning in place are common issues that can delay or complicate the H-1B filing.
