Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship in Rehabilitation Services Aide
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter Rehabilitation Services Aide roles by employers who have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for this occupation code, so you're applying to organizations already familiar with H-1B sponsorship for this job category.
Request prevailing wage documentation early in negotiations
Your employer must certify your offered wage meets DOL prevailing wage levels before filing the LCA. Run your job title and location through the OFLC Wage Search to know the required wage tier before your offer letter is drafted.
Prioritize hospital networks enrolled in E-Verify
Large hospital systems and multi-site rehabilitation networks required to use E-Verify tend to have established HR processes for H-1B filing. Smaller outpatient clinics often lack in-house immigration experience and may decline to sponsor even when willing.
Time your job search around the H-1B cap registration window
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration in March each year, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. Line up your offer and employer commitment at least 90 days before registration opens to allow time for LCA certification.
Document any clinical certifications before the I-129 is filed
Certifications like CPR, first aid, or state-specific aide licensure strengthen the specialty occupation argument in your H-1B petition. Gather certified copies of all credentials and have them ready for your employer's immigration attorney before Form I-129 preparation begins.

Find Rehabilitation Services Aide JobsRehabilitation Services Aide H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Rehabilitation Services Aide role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It depends on how the employer defines the position. If the job description requires a specific bachelor's degree in kinesiology, exercise science, occupational therapy, or a closely related field, it can qualify. Roles that accept any degree or list education as preferred rather than required are more likely to receive a Request for Evidence from USCIS challenging specialty occupation status.
Which types of employers sponsor H-1B visas for Rehabilitation Services Aides?
Hospital systems, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing organizations, and outpatient therapy networks are the most common sponsors for this role. These employers tend to have dedicated HR and legal infrastructure for immigration filings. Smaller independent clinics and private practice settings rarely sponsor H-1B petitions for aide-level positions. You can find employers with active H-1B filing history for this occupation on Migrate Mate.
What happens to my H-1B status if my rehabilitation employer closes a facility or eliminates my position?
You have a 60-day grace period after your employment ends to find a new H-1B sponsor, change to another visa status, or depart the United States. Your employer is responsible for notifying USCIS of the termination. If a new employer files an H-1B transfer petition while you're still within the grace period, you can begin working once the transfer receipt is issued.
Can my employer file for H-1B cap exemption for a Rehabilitation Services Aide role?
Only if the employer qualifies as cap-exempt under USCIS rules, such as nonprofit organizations affiliated with a qualifying institution of higher education, certain government research organizations, or nonprofit research entities. Many hospital-affiliated rehabilitation programs fall under this category, which means they can file year-round without competing in the annual lottery. Confirm your employer's cap-exempt status directly with their legal team before counting on this pathway.
How does the DOL prevailing wage requirement affect H-1B sponsorship for this role?
Before filing your H-1B petition, your employer must certify through the LCA process that your offered wage meets or exceeds the DOL prevailing wage for your job title and work location. For Rehabilitation Services Aides, the prevailing wage varies by geographic area and wage level. You can look up the applicable wage tier using the OFLC Wage Search tool before your offer is finalized to avoid surprises during the LCA certification step.
