H-1B Visa Sales Route Driver Jobs
Sales Route Driver roles typically fall outside H-1B specialty occupation requirements, since the position doesn't mandate a specific bachelor's degree. A small number of employers have filed H-1B LCAs for distribution and route management roles where logistics oversight responsibilities push the role into qualifying territory.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding H-1B Visa Sponsorship as a Sales Route Driver
Verify your role meets specialty occupation
Pull the O*NET profile for Sales Route Driver and document which duties require a specific bachelor's degree field. USCIS denies H-1B petitions when job duties don't require a degree in a directly related discipline, so your offer letter needs to reflect degree-tied responsibilities.
Target employers with LCA filing history
Search Migrate Mate's employer database to find companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for route driver or distribution management roles. Employers with an LCA filing record have already cleared DOL certification for that occupation, which signals an established H-1B sponsorship process.
Request a prevailing wage determination early
Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the prevailing wage for your specific county and job zone before negotiations start. Your employer's LCA must certify a salary at or above that wage level, and mismatches are a common reason petitions stall after filing.
Clarify E-Verify enrollment with your employer
Confirm your prospective employer is enrolled in E-Verify before accepting an offer. Employers who aren't enrolled can't satisfy USCIS work authorization verification requirements, and enrollment gaps discovered after filing create costly delays in your H-1B timeline.
Document logistics-specific degree alignment
If your degree is in supply chain management, business logistics, or a related field, prepare a written analysis mapping your coursework to the route management duties in your job description. This documentation becomes part of the I-129 petition and directly addresses the specialty occupation threshold.
File I-129 with premium processing if timeline is tight
Standard H-1B processing can run several months. If your current status has fewer than six months remaining, ask your employer to file Form I-129 with premium processing so USCIS adjudicates within 15 business days and you avoid a gap in authorized employment.

Find Sales Route Driver JobsSales Route Driver H-1B Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Sales Route Driver role qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Most Sales Route Driver positions don't meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard because the role doesn't typically require a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Exceptions exist when the employer structures the role around logistics management, account analysis, or supply chain oversight and the job description explicitly requires a degree in a directly related discipline. USCIS evaluates the actual duties, not just the job title.
Which employers sponsor H-1B visas for distribution and route driver roles?
A narrow set of employers in food distribution, beverage logistics, and consumer goods have filed H-1B Labor Condition Applications for route and territory management positions where the responsibilities extend beyond physical delivery into account management and data analysis. Migrate Mate filters employers by LCA filing history so you can identify which companies have actually sponsored roles in this occupation rather than relying on general employer reputation.
What job duties make a Sales Route Driver position H-1B eligible?
USCIS looks for duties that require theoretical and practical application of highly specialized knowledge, typically tied to a specific degree field. For route driver roles, this means duties like territory revenue analysis, customer account forecasting, or logistics systems management that require a degree in business, supply chain, or a related field. Physical delivery duties alone don't clear the specialty occupation threshold.
Can my employer sponsor me if they haven't filed H-1B petitions before?
Yes, but the process takes longer because the employer must first register with USCIS, obtain an Employer Identification Number, and complete DOL Labor Condition Application certification before filing the I-129 petition. First-time sponsors often underestimate the timeline, so build at least three to four months of runway into your start date planning, and confirm the employer is willing to go through each step before you accept an offer.
What happens to my H-1B status if I switch from one route driver employer to another?
H-1B portability under AC21 allows you to start with a new employer as soon as they file a new I-129 petition on your behalf, provided your original petition has been approved and you've been in valid H-1B status. Your new employer must file before your current status expires, and the new role must also qualify as a specialty occupation under the same degree-tied standard that applied to your original petition.
