H-1B Visa Telemetry RN Jobs
Telemetry RN roles qualify as H-1B visa specialty occupations because they require a BSN or higher and specialized cardiac monitoring skills. Many hospital systems sponsor H-1B petitions directly, and NCLEX-passing nurses with active state licensure are well-positioned to clear the prevailing wage and specialty occupation requirements.

Verify your state license before applying
H-1B approval doesn't authorize work until your state RN license is active. File for licensure endorsement early, processing times vary by state board, and some hospitals won't extend an offer without a valid, unencumbered license in hand.
Target hospital systems enrolled in E-Verify
Employers who hire on H-1B must use E-Verify to confirm work authorization. Search for telemetry units at health systems that already participate, this signals an established HR infrastructure for sponsoring international nurses rather than a first-time filing.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsors
Pull up Telemetry RN listings on Migrate Mate to see which hospitals have actual H-1B LCA filing history for this role. That history confirms the employer has filed before, not just that they're willing to consider it.
Check the prevailing wage before negotiating
Your H-1B LCA must certify that your offered wage meets the DOL prevailing wage for Telemetry RN in the posting location. Run the OFLC Wage Search using SOC code 29-1141 before your offer call so you know the floor your employer must meet.
Ask about cap-exempt filing options
Nonprofit hospital systems and qualifying university medical centers may be cap-exempt, meaning your employer can file your H-1B petition outside the annual lottery. Confirm the employer's tax-exempt status with HR before the April registration window closes.
Negotiate who covers the I-129 filing fee
Federal rules prohibit employers from passing certain H-1B petition costs to you, but premium processing fees and attorney costs are sometimes negotiated. Clarify the cost split in writing during the offer stage, before the petition is filed.
H-1B Visa Telemetry RN: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Telemetry RN role qualify as an H-1B specialty occupation?
Yes. USCIS recognizes registered nursing roles that require a BSN or higher as specialty occupations when the position involves specialized clinical skills. Telemetry RN roles, which require cardiac rhythm interpretation and continuous monitoring competencies, consistently meet the specialty occupation standard. Your employer will document this in the H-1B petition using the job description and your degree credentials.
Can I work as a Telemetry RN on H-1B while my petition is pending?
If you're already in H-1B status with a different employer, cap-gap or H-1B transfer rules may let you start before USCIS approves the new petition. If you're changing from OPT or another status, you generally can't begin work until USCIS approves the new H-1B. Confirm the exact rule for your current status with your employer's immigration attorney before your start date.
How do I find hospitals that actually sponsor H-1B visas for Telemetry RN roles?
Browse Telemetry RN listings on Migrate Mate, which filters employers using verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing data. A hospital appearing in that data has already filed LCAs for this role type, which is a stronger signal than an HR department simply saying they're open to sponsorship. Cross-reference with E-Verify participation to confirm the employer has the compliance infrastructure in place.
Does my foreign nursing degree satisfy the H-1B specialty occupation requirement?
It depends on the credential evaluation. USCIS requires that your degree be equivalent to a U.S. BSN from an accredited institution. A credential evaluation from CGFNS or a NACES-member agency is the standard way to establish equivalency. Some employers require this evaluation before extending an offer, so completing it early strengthens your candidacy and avoids delays at the petition stage.
Can a Telemetry RN employer file outside the H-1B cap lottery?
Yes, if the hospital qualifies. Nonprofit hospitals affiliated with universities, certain government-owned health systems, and facilities that qualify as nonprofit research organizations may file H-1B petitions year-round without entering the annual lottery. Ask your prospective employer whether they hold 501(c)(3) status and whether USCIS has previously accepted cap-exempt filings from their organization.
