They will lead and mentor a team comprising a full-time Post-Graduate Fellow/Manager and student workers. Crucially, the Director will establish a strategic vision for generating revenue through produce sales, public workshops, and plant sales, while expanding volunteer initiatives, alumni and donor engagement, and community food system outreach. Beyond campus, the Director will serve as a strategic bridge builder—forging high-impact research, clinical health, and public partnerships across Rice University and the neighboring Texas Medical Center in areas such as garden therapy, public health, and patient wellness.

Candidates must have a master’s degree in Public Horticulture, Sustainable Agriculture, or a related practitioner field; or a Ph.D. in Horticulture or a related discipline by the start date. Map your degree to the specialty occupation definition
USCIS requires your degree field to directly relate to your job duties at The Trade Desk. A computer science or data engineering degree maps cleanly to platform or ML roles; a general business degree may trigger an RFE if the job duties lean technical.
Target offices with active LCA filing history
The Trade Desk operates engineering hubs in multiple cities. Use Migrate Mate to filter LCA disclosures by office location so you apply to the sites where H-1B sponsorship is demonstrably active, not just assumed.
Confirm the role title matches your petition
Job postings sometimes use internal titles that differ from the Standard Occupational Classification code on the LCA. Ask your recruiter early which SOC code the company plans to use, since this directly determines your prevailing wage level.
Benchmark compensation against the prevailing wage tier
DOL sets four wage levels for each SOC code and metro area. Run the OFLC Wage Search before your offer negotiation to know whether the offer clears Level II or Level III, which affects both your petition's strength and any future green card PERM filing.
Prepare your 60-day grace period strategy before acceptance
If your current H-1B employer is different from The Trade Desk, you have 60 days after your last day to have a new petition filed. Confirm The Trade Desk's HR team understands the portability rules under AC21 so your start date doesn't fall outside that window.
Verify O*NET alignment for your specific role
USCIS adjudicators use O*NET job zone classifications to assess specialty occupation eligibility. Pull the O*NET profile for your target title and confirm the listed education requirement says 'bachelor's degree required,' not 'preferred,' before your interview stage.
H-1B Visa The Trade Desk: Frequently Asked Questions
Does The Trade Desk sponsor H-1B visas for engineering and technical roles?
Yes. The Trade Desk has a consistent record of filing Labor Condition Applications for software engineering, data science, and product management roles across its U.S. offices. You can browse current H-1B sponsored openings at The Trade Desk on Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles filtered by verified LCA filing history so you're not guessing at sponsorship availability.
Which job titles at The Trade Desk are most likely to qualify as H-1B specialty occupations?
Roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related technical field qualify most cleanly. At The Trade Desk, this typically includes software engineer, data engineer, machine learning engineer, and platform architect positions. Roles in advertising operations or account management may qualify but require stronger documentation showing the degree field directly relates to the job duties, per USCIS specialty occupation standards.
How does the H-1B lottery affect my chances of joining The Trade Desk?
USCIS runs the H-1B cap lottery each spring for petitions filed in April, with an annual limit of 65,000 regular-cap slots and 20,000 additional slots for U.S. master's degree holders. If you're currently on OPT or a different nonimmigrant status, The Trade Desk can file a petition on your behalf during the registration window. Cap-exempt institutions don't apply here since The Trade Desk is a for-profit employer subject to the annual cap.
Can I transfer an existing H-1B to The Trade Desk without going through the lottery again?
Yes. If you already hold an approved H-1B with another employer, The Trade Desk can file an H-1B transfer petition under portability rules. USCIS allows you to start working for the new employer as soon as the transfer petition is filed, as long as you've been in valid H-1B status and your prior petition was properly approved. You do not re-enter the lottery.
What prevailing wage level should I expect The Trade Desk to use on my LCA?
DOL assigns wage levels I through IV based on your experience, supervision, and job complexity. Most mid-level engineering roles at The Trade Desk are filed at Level II or Level III. You can verify the prevailing wage for your specific job title and office metro area using the OFLC Wage Search before your offer stage, which lets you confirm whether a compensation package meets the DOL threshold for your petition.
