H-1B1 Chile Visa Business Development Representative Jobs
H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship lets Chilean nationals step into Business Development Representative roles at U.S. companies without entering a lottery. The 1,400-visa annual cap rarely fills, and your application goes directly to the U.S. consulate, so you can move from offer letter to visa stamp faster than most work visa pathways allow.

Translate your degree for U.S. employers
Chilean universities issue licenciaturas that U.S. hiring managers don't always recognize as bachelor's equivalents. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-accredited evaluator before applying so your business or economics degree clears the H-1B1 visa specialty occupation threshold without delays.
Search verified H-1B1 sponsors on Migrate Mate
Filter by employers with confirmed H-1B1 Chile LCA filing history on Migrate Mate. That filing record tells you the company already understands the consular process, which cuts weeks off negotiating sponsorship terms with HR.
Anchor your salary ask to OFLC Wage Search data
Pull the prevailing wage for your target SOC code and metro area using OFLC Wage Search before salary negotiations. Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above that level, so knowing the floor protects you from offers that can't clear DOL certification.
Confirm your role qualifies as specialty occupation
Not every BDR role meets H-1B1's specialty occupation standard. Use O*NET to verify your job description aligns with occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field like business, marketing, or international relations, then flag that alignment explicitly in your offer letter.
Time your consulate appointment around LCA certification
Your employer must receive DOL LCA certification before you can schedule a consulate interview. DOL typically certifies within seven business days, so align your appointment booking to that window to avoid scheduling conflicts that push your start date back by weeks.
Request a two-year H-1B1 validity period upfront
H-1B1 Chile visas are issued in one-year increments at some posts but the status period can run two years. Ask your employer to structure the offer documentation for the full two-year period so you're not renewing employer paperwork after year one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Business Development Representative role qualify for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship?
Yes, if the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business, marketing, international trade, or economics. Generic sales roles that accept any degree or no degree won't pass the specialty occupation test. Your offer letter should explicitly state the degree requirement and how it connects to the BDR responsibilities.
How does the H-1B1 Chile visa compare to the H-1B for a BDR role?
The H-1B1 Chile visa skips the lottery entirely, which means your employer can sponsor you for a specific start date rather than waiting on random selection. The annual cap sits at 1,400 visas for Chilean nationals and has never been exhausted, so availability isn't a real constraint. The trade-off is that H-1B1 doesn't allow dual intent, meaning the visa is strictly nonimmigrant.
How do I find U.S. companies that will sponsor a Chilean national for a BDR position?
Migrate Mate shows employers with documented H-1B1 Chile LCA filing history, so you can target companies that have already run the consular process for this visa type. That prior filing experience matters because BDR sponsorship often stalls at employers who are willing in principle but unfamiliar with DOL and consulate requirements specific to Chilean nationals.
What documents does my employer need to file for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship?
Your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL, which certifies your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role and location. Once DOL certifies the LCA, you bring it along with your offer letter, DS-160, and credential documentation to your consulate interview. USCIS is not involved in H-1B visa1 processing the way it is for a standard H-1B petition.
Can I switch BDR jobs after arriving in the U.S. on an H-1B1 Chile visa?
You can change employers, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need to return to a U.S. consulate to obtain a new H-1B1 visa stamp reflecting the new position. There's no H-1B portability mechanism for H-1B1, so confirm your next employer is prepared to run the full consular sponsorship process before you resign.
