Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Client Advisor Jobs
Align your credentials to specialty occupation
Client Advisor roles must qualify as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field. Pull the O*NET profile for financial advisors or personal financial advisors to confirm the degree requirement language before applying.
Verify the prevailing wage before negotiating
Your employer must certify your salary meets DOL wage levels on the Labor Condition Application. Run the OFLC Wage Search using your job title and work location before accepting an offer so you're not underpaid and the LCA fails certification.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search for Client Advisor roles on Migrate Mate, which filters for employers with verified H-1B1 Chile LCA filing history so you're not spending time on companies that haven't sponsored this visa category before.
Confirm the employer knows H-1B1 Chile vs. H-1B
Many hiring managers only know the H-1B lottery process. Tell the recruiter upfront that H-1B1 visa Chile requires no USCIS petition and no lottery, and that the employer's counsel files a certified LCA directly, which often speeds up the internal approval process.
Get your Chilean credentials evaluated before the interview
Chilean licenciatura degrees are typically four to five years and generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's, but get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member evaluator before your consular interview so the officer has documentation confirming equivalency.
Prepare for consular nonimmigrant intent scrutiny
H-1B1 Chile doesn't allow dual intent, so the consular officer will assess whether you intend to return to Chile. Bring documentation showing ties to Chile, such as property ownership, family records, or a Chilean professional license, to support your nonimmigrant intent.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Client Advisor role qualify for H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship?
Yes, if the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as finance, economics, or business administration. Generic sales or customer service roles that accept any degree don't qualify. Your employer's LCA filing must describe the role as a specialty occupation, and the job duties should align with the O*NET profile for financial or investment advisors.
How is the H-1B1 Chile visa different from H-1B for Client Advisor roles?
The H-1B1 Chile visa has no lottery, no USCIS petition, and a separate annual cap of 1,400 visas that rarely comes close to filling. You apply directly at the U.S. consulate in Chile after your employer files a certified LCA with DOL. The H-1B requires a lottery, USCIS adjudication, and is subject to an 85,000-visa cap that is significantly oversubscribed each year.
Where can I find Client Advisor jobs with H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended platform for finding Client Advisor roles where employers have confirmed H-1B1 Chile sponsorship history. Searching general job boards often surfaces roles at companies unfamiliar with this visa category, which adds time and friction to your job search before you even reach the offer stage.
What documents does a Chilean professional need for a Client Advisor H-1B1 visa application?
You'll need a certified LCA from your employer, your original degree certificate with a credential evaluation confirming U.S. equivalency, a job offer letter describing your specialty occupation duties, proof of Chilean citizenship, and your DS-160 application. The consular officer may also ask for documentation supporting your nonimmigrant intent, since H-1B1 Chile doesn't permit dual intent the way some other work visas do.
Can a Client Advisor on H-1B1 Chile change employers?
Yes, but it's not a seamless transfer. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need to attend another consular interview or apply for a change of status if you're already in the U.S. Unlike H-1B portability, there's no automatic continuation of status while the new petition is pending, so timing your transition carefully with both employers is essential.
