H-1B1 Chile Visa Manager, Product Management Jobs

DESCRIPTION
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an exceptional Senior Manager, Product Management, to lead AWS Activate — our flagship startup program to onboard startups to AWS. You will own the end-to-end product experience that onboards tens of thousands of startups onto AWS each year.
As the single-threaded leader for Activate, you will own the product strategy, business strategy, and operational strategy for the program — spanning startup onboarding experience, credit automation, intelligent credit allocation, fraud prevention, provider partnerships, and customer support. You will drive modernization of the program — including agentic and AI-driven experiences — to increase startup acquisition, reduce friction, and accelerate startup success on AWS.
This role sits at the intersection of product management, customer acquisition, financial management, and technical execution. You will partner with Startup Sales, Marketing, Investor Managers, and AWS Service teams to maximize the reach and optimize the startup onboarding funnel to drive measurable business impact on startup acquisition. You will also build deep relationships with venture capital firms, accelerators, and startup ecosystem partners to expand acquisition channels and drive engagement with key channels.

- Lead a team spanning engineering, operations, and product — including managing managers
- Set strategic direction and drive alignment across Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Product, and Finance stakeholders
- Present business cases, investment recommendations, and program performance to VP and SVP-level audiences
- Foster a culture of customer obsession, data-driven decision making, and bias for action

Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
Product management roles require a directly related degree field, not just any bachelor's. A degree in computer science, business administration, or engineering typically qualifies, but a general arts degree paired with unrelated work history may draw scrutiny at the consulate.
Pull your wage floor before salary negotiations
Your employer's LCA must certify a wage at or above the DOL prevailing wage for your location and job title. Run the OFLC Wage Search for SOC code 11-3021 before negotiating an offer so you know the minimum that clears the compliance threshold.
Target employers already familiar with H-1B1 Chile filings
Use Migrate Mate to filter product management roles by employers with documented H-1B1 Chile LCA history, so you're not educating HR teams on a visa category they've never processed before.
Confirm your job description reflects managerial scope
The consular officer will assess whether your role genuinely requires theoretical and practical application of specialized knowledge. A job description heavy on execution tasks and light on strategic or cross-functional leadership can create specialty occupation questions during your visa interview.
Request LCA certification timing before accepting the offer
Your employer files the LCA with DOL before you can schedule your Santiago consulate appointment. Ask the hiring team for their expected LCA submission date during the offer stage so your start date accounts for DOL's seven-business-day certification window.
Prepare a portfolio of product ownership evidence for the interview
Consular officers sometimes probe specialty occupation for product roles that blur into project management. Bring documentation showing roadmap ownership, cross-functional decision authority, and outcomes tied to your degree discipline to reinforce the specialty occupation classification.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Manager, Product Management role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B1 Chile purposes?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific related field and the job duties reflect that requirement. Product management roles that involve strategic planning, technical roadmap ownership, or engineering coordination typically qualify. Roles framed primarily as project coordination without a degree-specific requirement can face consulate pushback on specialty occupation.
How does H-1B1 Chile differ from H-1B for a product management hire?
H-1B1 visa Chile skips the lottery entirely and has a separate 1,400-visa annual cap that rarely fills, so your employer doesn't gamble on a March registration. The application goes directly to the U.S. Embassy in Santiago rather than through a USCIS petition, which typically means faster processing. The trade-off is that H-1B1 does not allow dual intent, so you can't use it as a direct path toward a green card.
How can I find product management employers who sponsor H-1B1 Chile visas?
Migrate Mate lets you search product management openings filtered by employers with verified H-1B1 Chile LCA filing history, so you're targeting companies that have already navigated this specific visa category rather than starting from scratch with an unfamiliar HR team.
What documents does my employer need to prepare for an H-1B1 Chile product management filing?
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying the prevailing wage for your role and location, typically under SOC code 11-3021. They'll also need to prepare a support letter confirming the specialty occupation basis, your educational credentials, and the job offer. The full packet goes to the U.S. Embassy in Santiago rather than USCIS.
Can I switch employers while working in the U.S. on H-1B1 Chile as a product manager?
You can change employers, but H-1B1 Chile doesn't carry the same portability provisions as H-1B. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new visa stamp before re-entering the country or, in some cases, before you begin work. Coordinating the timing of your transition with your new employer's LCA submission is essential to avoid a status gap.
