H-1B1 Chile Visa Product Manager Jobs
Product Manager jobs with H-1B1 Chile visa sponsorship are open to Chilean nationals under the U.S.-Chile Free Trade Agreement. The H-1B visa1 has no lottery, a 1,400-visa annual cap that rarely fills, and processes directly at the consulate, making it a faster, more predictable path to U.S. product roles than H-1B.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Product Manager
Verify your degree field matches product management
The H-1B1 visa requires a specialty occupation tied to a specific bachelor's degree. Product management sits under O*NET's management and information systems classifications, so a business, engineering, or computer science degree strengthens your petition significantly more than a general studies credential.
Request an LCA before your offer letter finalizes
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your H-1B1 petition is complete. Ask hiring managers early whether their HR or legal team has LCA experience, since delays there directly push back your consulate appointment date.
Pull prevailing wage data before salary negotiations
Use the OFLC Wage Search to find the DOL prevailing wage for Product Manager in your target city before you negotiate. Your offered salary must meet that threshold or the LCA won't certify, so knowing the floor protects both you and your employer.
Target employers with existing H-1B1 Chile filing history
Companies that have sponsored H-1B1 Chile visas before already have compliant LCA and petition workflows in place. Search Migrate Mate to filter Product Manager roles by verified H-1B1 Chile sponsorship history, cutting out employers who'll stall on legal logistics.
Prepare a specialty occupation memo for your employer
Many product management job descriptions list a bachelor's degree as preferred, not required, which can create problems at the consulate. Draft a one-page memo with your employer explaining why the role requires a specific technical or business degree to help the officer adjudicate cleanly.
Schedule your consulate appointment as soon as your LCA certifies
Unlike H-1B, H-1B1 Chile is adjudicated at the consulate in Santiago, not by USCIS. Appointment slots at U.S. Embassy Santiago can book out weeks in advance, so file your DS-160 and schedule immediately after the LCA is certified to avoid gaps before your start date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does product management qualify as a specialty occupation for the H-1B1 Chile visa?
Yes, product management qualifies when the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as computer science, engineering, or business administration. The key is that your employer's job description must specify a degree requirement, not just list one as preferred. A role described as requiring any bachelor's degree regardless of field can face scrutiny at the consulate.
How does the H-1B1 Chile visa compare to H-1B for product managers?
The H-1B1 Chile visa has a dedicated 1,400-visa annual cap for Chilean nationals that rarely fills, so there's no lottery and no random selection risk. H-1B has an 85,000-visa cap and a competitive lottery that rejects most registrants. For a Chilean product manager with a qualifying job offer, H-1B1 is faster, more predictable, and doesn't require USCIS petition approval before your consulate appointment.
How do I find U.S. employers who will sponsor an H-1B1 Chile visa for a product manager role?
Migrate Mate lets you search product manager openings filtered by verified H-1B1 Chile sponsorship history, so you're only seeing companies that have already navigated the LCA and consulate process. Targeting those employers directly reduces the risk of an offer falling through because a company's legal team is unfamiliar with H-1B1 Chile requirements.
Can my employer file an H-1B1 Chile petition without prior visa sponsorship experience?
Yes, but they'll need to file a Labor Condition Application with DOL and meet prevailing wage requirements for your role and location. First-time sponsors sometimes underestimate LCA lead time, which can delay your consulate appointment. Connecting your HR team with an immigration attorney early and pointing them to USCIS guidance on H-1B1 Chile reduces the chance of filing errors.
What happens to my H-1B1 Chile status if my product manager role changes significantly after I arrive?
Material changes to your job duties, title, or employer location can require a new LCA and amended petition. If your role shifts from individual contributor to people management, or if you're reassigned to a different office, your employer should consult an immigration attorney before the change takes effect. USCIS and DOL treat unamended material changes as a compliance violation.
