Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an exceptional Senior Manager, Product Management, to lead AWS Activate — our flagship startup program to onboard startups to AWS. You will own the end-to-end product experience that onboards tens of thousands of startups onto AWS each year.
As the single-threaded leader for Activate, you will own the product strategy, business strategy, and operational strategy for the program — spanning startup onboarding experience, credit automation, intelligent credit allocation, fraud prevention, provider partnerships, and customer support. This role sits at the intersection of product management, customer acquisition, financial management, and technical execution. You will partner with Startup Sales, Marketing, Investor Managers, and AWS Service teams to maximize the reach and optimize the startup onboarding funnel to drive measurable business impact on startup acquisition. You will also build deep relationships with venture capital firms, accelerators, and startup ecosystem partners to expand acquisition channels and drive engagement with key channels.

Verify your degree field matches the role
H-1B1 visa requires a degree directly related to product management, so a business, computer science, or engineering degree works. A general arts degree without relevant coursework can draw consular scrutiny, so gather your transcript and be ready to explain the connection.
Search employer LCA filings before applying
Use the OFLC Wage Search to confirm a company has filed Labor Condition Applications for product management roles. An employer with no LCA history for this occupation will face a steeper internal approval process, which can stall your offer unexpectedly.
Find H-1B1 sponsors faster on Migrate Mate
Filter by H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship on Migrate Mate to surface companies that have already filed for Singaporean nationals. This cuts out the guesswork of cold-applying to employers unfamiliar with the H-1B1 Singapore visa track.
Confirm the job description meets specialty occupation standards
Ask your prospective employer to review the role description against O*NET's product manager occupation profile. A posting that lists a degree as 'preferred' rather than 'required' can undermine the specialty occupation determination at the consulate.
Get the LCA certified before your visa appointment
Your employer must file and receive DOL certification of the LCA before you can apply at the consulate. DOL typically certifies within seven business days, but build in extra time if the employer is filing for this occupation category for the first time.
Prepare for consular nonimmigrant intent questions
Unlike H-1B visa holders, H-1B1 Singapore visa holders cannot claim dual intent. Bring clear documentation of your Singapore ties and a defined employment end date to demonstrate you intend to return after your authorized stay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Manager, Product Management role qualify as a specialty occupation for H-1B1 Singapore?
Yes, product management qualifies as a specialty occupation because it requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business, computer science, or engineering. The employer must document this requirement in the Labor Condition Application and be prepared to confirm it at the consulate. Roles where a degree is listed as preferred rather than required can complicate this determination.
How does the H-1B1 Singapore visa differ from H-1B for product management professionals?
The H-1B1 Singapore visa skips the lottery entirely and is processed at the U.S. consulate in Singapore rather than through USCIS. The annual cap is 5,400 visas for Singaporeans, and it has never been exhausted. The key trade-off is that H-1B1 does not allow dual intent, so you can't use it as a direct stepping stone to a green card the way H-1B holders sometimes do.
Which employers sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas for product management roles?
Technology companies, financial services firms, and enterprise software companies are the most active sponsors for product management roles under the H-1B1 Singapore visa. Migrate Mate lets you filter job listings specifically by H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship, so you can focus your search on employers who have already demonstrated willingness and familiarity with this visa track.
Can my employer file the LCA for a product management role if they've never sponsored an H-1B1 before?
Yes, any U.S. employer can file an LCA with DOL for an H-1B1 Singapore visa regardless of prior sponsorship history. DOL typically certifies LCAs within seven business days. The practical challenge is internal: HR and legal teams unfamiliar with the H-1B1 process may need extra time to prepare documentation, so raise the visa requirement early in the offer stage.
How long does H-1B1 Singapore visa processing take for product management hires?
Once the employer's LCA is DOL-certified, you can schedule your consular appointment at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore. Appointment availability varies by season, but the consular review itself is typically completed the same day. Total time from offer acceptance to visa in hand depends primarily on how quickly the employer files the LCA and how soon an appointment slot is available.
