Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Visa Sponsorship as a Human Resources Manager
Verify your HR credentials match U.S. standards
H-2B visa employers file labor certifications based on specific occupational definitions. Cross-reference your HR credentials against the O*NET profile for Human Resources Managers to confirm your experience and qualifications map cleanly to the role as DOL defines it.
Target seasonal resorts and event operators early
Hospitality groups, ski resorts, and large-scale event management companies routinely sponsor H-2B workers for managerial roles during defined peak seasons. Start outreach six to eight months before your target start date, since DOL labor certification alone can take several weeks.
Search H-2B HR roles through Migrate Mate
H-2B sponsorship for managerial roles is less common than for labor-intensive positions, so finding the right employer matters. Use Migrate Mate to filter job listings specifically by H-2B sponsorship history, narrowing your search to employers who have actually filed for HR roles.
Understand where the annual cap affects your timeline
The 66,000 annual H-2B cap splits into two halves: 33,000 for jobs starting October through March and 33,000 for April through September. Cap numbers fill quickly, so confirm with any prospective employer that they're filing under the correct half-year allocation for your intended start date.
Ask employers directly about their DOL filing experience
Not every seasonal employer has navigated the H-2B labor certification process for a Human Resources Manager role before. During interviews, ask whether their counsel has previously filed DOL temporary labor certifications for managerial positions, since first-time filers often underestimate preparation timelines.
Use the OFLC Wage Search to anchor your salary conversation
Your H-2B employer must pay at least the prevailing wage set by DOL for your specific occupation and work location. Run the OFLC Wage Search for Human Resources Managers in the employer's county before accepting an offer, so you can confirm the job offer meets the legally required minimum.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Human Resources Manager jobs that offer H-2B visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for Human Resources Manager positions filtered by H-2B sponsorship. Because H-2B sponsorship for managerial roles is less common than for frontline seasonal positions, filtering by verified sponsorship history saves significant time. Target seasonal hospitality groups, resort operators, and large event management companies, which are the employers most likely to have filed H-2B labor certifications for HR roles.
Does the H-2B annual cap affect when I need to start my job search for Human Resources Manager roles?
Yes, and timing is critical. The 66,000-visa annual cap splits into two halves by season, and cap numbers can be reached within days of USCIS opening each period. Employers must complete DOL labor certification before filing with USCIS, so the full process typically requires starting six to nine months before your intended employment date. Applying for a summer role? Your employer should begin the DOL process in the fall prior.
Is a Human Resources Manager role considered a qualifying occupation for the H-2B visa?
H-2B covers temporary non-agricultural positions across a range of industries, including managerial roles in hospitality, recreation, and seasonal event operations. The employer must demonstrate through DOL labor certification that the need is genuinely temporary and that no qualified U.S. workers are available for the position. HR Managers at seasonal resorts or event companies fit this framework, provided the employment period is tied to a defined peak season.
What happens to my H-2B status if my seasonal HR role ends early or my employer downsizes?
H-2B status is tied to the specific employer and position named in the approved petition. If your role ends before the authorized period expires, you have a short grace period before your status lapses, but you cannot simply transfer to another H-2B employer without a new petition and DOL labor certification. Notify USCIS promptly and work with your employer to understand whether an amended petition or departure is required.
