H-2B Visa Superintendent Jobs
Superintendent jobs with H-2B visa sponsorship are available in construction, landscaping, and resort development, where employers hire seasonal site supervisors to oversee crews and manage project timelines. H-2B requires a temporary labor certification from the DOL before your employer can petition USCIS, and the 66,000 annual visa cap means early filing is critical.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Superintendent Jobs
Pull your O*NET occupation profile first
Superintendent roles span multiple SOC codes depending on industry. Check your job's O*NET classification before applying so your employer's DOL labor certification matches your actual duties, not a mismatched title that slows certification.
Target employers with repeat H-2B petition history
Seasonal contractors and resort operators who file H-2B visa annually already know the DOL labor certification timeline. Search Migrate Mate to filter Superintendent openings by verified H-2B visa sponsorship history, saving time on employers new to the process.
Document your supervisory credentials before applying
H-2B Superintendent roles require proof you can lawfully oversee the crew size listed in the labor certification. Gather OSHA safety certifications, trade licenses, and employment verification letters showing direct supervisory experience before any employer submits to DOL.
File before the cap fills in your season's half
The 66,000 annual H-2B cap splits into 33,000 for October-March starts and 33,000 for April-September. Superintendent positions tied to summer construction or landscaping seasons often exhaust their half early, so push your employer to start the DOL labor certification at least four months out.
Confirm prevailing wage before the employer submits
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for your specific Superintendent SOC code and work location. If the posted salary falls below that rate, USCIS will deny the I-129 petition, stalling your start date.
Request a named-position offer letter from your employer
Your employer's DOL labor certification must list specific job duties matching your Superintendent role. A vague offer letter referencing only a job category creates mismatches during USCIS adjudication. Get a letter that mirrors the certified job description line by line.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Superintendent jobs with H-2B visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Superintendent openings from employers with verified H-2B sponsorship history, so you're not wasting time on postings where the employer has never navigated the DOL labor certification process. Filter by industry and location to focus on seasonal construction, landscaping, and resort operators who regularly hire H-2B workers for supervisory roles.
How does the H-2B annual cap affect my Superintendent application timeline?
The H-2B cap is set at 66,000 visas per fiscal year, split into two halves of 33,000 each. Your employer must file the I-129 petition with USCIS only after DOL certifies the labor application, and cap numbers fill quickly. For summer Superintendent roles, your employer should start the DOL process at least four months before your intended start date to avoid cap exhaustion.
What documents do I need to support an H-2B Superintendent petition?
You'll need proof of supervisory experience such as employment verification letters, OSHA or trade certifications, and any licenses required by the state where you'll work. Your employer submits the I-129 and the DOL-certified labor certification to USCIS. Matching your credentials to the specific SOC code on the labor certification is critical for adjudication.
Can I change job sites or employers mid-season on H-2B status?
H-2B status ties you to the specific employer and worksite listed on the approved I-129 petition. Moving to a different project location or a new employer mid-season requires your new employer to file a separate labor certification with DOL and a new I-129 with USCIS. Working outside the approved petition terms violates your status.
