Document your supervisory experience concretely
H-2B visa petitions require employers to justify the role's requirements. Gather reference letters, org charts, or performance reviews that confirm you've directly managed warehouse workers, not just performed warehouse tasks alongside a team.
Target employers with prior H-2B certification history
Search Migrate Mate to identify warehouse and distribution employers who have filed DOL temporary labor certifications before. Prior certification history signals a company already understands the process and is more likely to sponsor again.
Understand how the semiannual cap affects your start date
The 66,000 annual H-2B cap splits into two 33,000-visa allotments: October 1 and April 1. If your employer targets a summer peak season, they must file early enough to fall within the April allotment before it fills.
Verify the employer's prevailing wage obligation for your role
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for Warehouse Supervisor in your target work location. If an employer's posted pay falls below that rate, DOL will deny their labor certification before USCIS ever sees a petition.
Confirm the seasonal or temporary need is documented
DOL requires employers to prove the Warehouse Supervisor position is genuinely temporary, tied to a peak season like holiday fulfillment or summer retail distribution. Roles framed as year-round operational needs will not qualify for H-2B certification.
Review your O*NET occupation profile before interviews
The O*NET profile for Warehouse Supervisors outlines the core tasks, tools, and skills DOL and USCIS reference when evaluating job descriptions. Aligning your resume and interview answers to these standard duties strengthens both the employer's petition and your credibility.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Warehouse Supervisor jobs with H-2B sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the fastest way to find Warehouse Supervisor roles where employers have a verified H-2B filing history. Standard job boards don't filter by visa sponsorship type, which means you waste time applying to employers who've never filed a temporary labor certification. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with documented DOL certification activity so you apply where sponsorship is actually possible.
Does the H-2B annual cap affect when I can start a Warehouse Supervisor role?
Yes. The 66,000-visa cap splits into two semiannual periods beginning October 1 and April 1. Warehouse employers tied to holiday or peak-season fulfillment cycles typically target the April allotment. If that allotment fills before your employer's petition is approved, your start date shifts to the next period or your petition may require a return-to-country reset.
What documents should I prepare before a Warehouse Supervisor H-2B application?
Your employer drives most of the filing, but your background directly supports their petition. Prepare documentation of your supervisory experience, including any evidence of headcount managed, scheduling responsibilities, or safety compliance oversight. If your experience is from outside the U.S., have credentials translated and notarized. USCIS may request a full employment history if your prior roles aren't clearly supervisory in title.
Can I extend my H-2B status if the warehouse employer needs me past the original end date?
H-2B status can be extended in increments up to a total of three years, but the employer must file a new petition and demonstrate the continued need is still temporary and seasonal. Warehouse roles tied to a fixed seasonal cycle are harder to extend year-over-year without triggering DOL scrutiny about whether the position is genuinely temporary rather than a permanent operational role.
