Healthcare Analyst Jobs in Louisiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a healthcare analyst in Louisiana?
Most healthcare analyst positions in Louisiana require at least a bachelor's degree in health information management, public health, business, or a related field. Louisiana does not require a state-issued license specifically for the healthcare analyst role, but employers frequently prefer candidates who hold the Registered Health Information Administrator credential through AHIMA or a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional designation. Gaining experience with Louisiana Medicaid data systems or Ochsner's or LCMC's analytics environments strengthens a candidate's profile considerably.
Which companies hire healthcare analysts in Louisiana?
Louisiana healthcare analyst roles are posted by Aveanna Healthcare, Nexion Health, and Cushing Terrell and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Louisiana's large Medicaid managed care presence and its major academic medical centers make the state a consistent source of analyst openings across both payer and provider organizations.
Which Louisiana cities have the most healthcare analyst jobs?
Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Kaplan have the most healthcare analyst openings in Louisiana. New Orleans anchors demand through its large academic medical systems and regional health plans, while Baton Rouge benefits from state government health agencies and a growing managed care corridor, and Shreveport draws openings from its concentration of hospital networks and regional payer offices serving northwest Louisiana.
Are there remote healthcare analyst jobs in Louisiana?
Yes, and more than most healthcare roles, since the work is desk-based and data-driven rather than hands-on or clinical. About 50% of healthcare analyst openings tied to Louisiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly this role has shifted toward flexible arrangements. Claims analysis, utilization management reporting, and population health work are the sub-functions most likely to be offered fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a healthcare analyst in Louisiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to data coordinator, billing analyst, or health information technician roles at Louisiana hospital systems such as Ochsner Health or Willis-Knighton Health System, then moving into analyst work after building exposure to claims or clinical data. Many large Louisiana health plans and hospital networks hire recent graduates into rotational or analyst-in-training programs. Earning the Registered Health Information Technician credential through AHIMA gives entry-level candidates a concrete edge in a competitive applicant pool.
Where can I find and apply to healthcare analyst jobs in Louisiana?
You can find and apply to healthcare analyst jobs in Louisiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the Louisiana market. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and specialty area, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
