Healthcare Sales Representative Jobs in Ohio: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a healthcare sales representative in Ohio?
Most Ohio employers hire healthcare sales representatives with a bachelor's degree in a life science, business, or healthcare-related field combined with prior sales experience. Ohio does not require a state-issued license specifically for healthcare sales, but representatives selling certain medical devices or pharmaceuticals may need to complete manufacturer credentialing or hospital vendor credentialing programs. Building familiarity with Ohio's major health systems early through internships or inside sales roles is the most direct path.
How much do healthcare sales representatives make in Ohio?
Healthcare sales representatives in Ohio earn a median of about $59,390 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $36,110 for the lowest 10% to over $122,100 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire healthcare sales representatives in Ohio?
Employers hiring healthcare sales representatives in Ohio right now include TP, ChenMed, and Gentiva, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Ohio's concentration of large health system headquarters and medical distribution companies makes it one of the more active states for ongoing healthcare sales hiring throughout the year.
Which Ohio cities have the most healthcare sales representative jobs?
Ohio, Cleveland, and Uniontown account for the largest share of healthcare sales representative openings in Ohio. Columbus drives volume through its mix of large health system headquarters and medical device distributors, while Cleveland's nationally recognized medical institutions and Cincinnati's pharmaceutical and consumer health presence generate steady demand in those markets as well.
Are there remote healthcare sales representative jobs in Ohio?
Yes, but they're rare. About 75% of healthcare sales representative openings tied to Ohio are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the fact that most roles require in-person visits to hospitals, clinics, and physician offices to build relationships and demonstrate products. Administrative functions like account reporting and virtual follow-ups are the portions most commonly handled remotely.
How can I get hired as a healthcare sales representative in Ohio with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in an inside sales or sales support role at an Ohio-based medical distributor or manufacturer, then moving into a field territory position. Companies like Cardinal Health and Stryker run structured associate sales representative programs designed for candidates without direct field experience. Building hospital vendor credentialing early and earning a Certified Medical Representative credential gives applicants a measurable edge when competing against more experienced candidates for entry-level Ohio openings.
Where can I find and apply to healthcare sales representative jobs in Ohio?
You can find and apply to healthcare sales representative jobs in Ohio on Migrate Mate, which lists current Ohio openings from employers actively hiring. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your experience and target territory, and apply directly to each position without any intermediate steps.
