Working closely with HR partners, business stakeholders, and system owners, you will help resolve issues, validate data across systems, and drive enhancements that improve how the organization uses its HR technology. This is a strong fit for an experienced systems professional who enjoys working directly in tools, supporting production environments, and building lasting operational depth in HR technology.

Tips for Your HRIS Analyst Job Search
Tailor your resume to specific platforms
Recruiters scan for the HRIS platform by name, so list Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or ADP Workforce Now explicitly in your skills section. A generic 'HRIS experience' line won't get you past automated screening for roles tied to a specific system.
Quantify your system administration work
Instead of saying you maintained employee records, write how many employee profiles you managed, how many workflows you built, or how much time a process improvement saved. Hiring managers for hris analyst roles expect numbers attached to system work, not just task descriptions.
Filter openings by the platform you know best
Searching 'hris analyst' broadly returns hundreds of postings across incompatible platforms. Narrow your search by pairing the role title with the platform name you're strongest in. You'll surface roles where your hands-on system knowledge is directly transferable on day one.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists hris analyst openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare for a technical configuration interview
Most hris analyst interviews include a scenario round where you're asked how you'd configure a workflow, troubleshoot a data discrepancy, or build a custom report. Practice walking through your actual steps out loud before the interview, not just the outcome you delivered.
Negotiate scope, not just compensation
When evaluating an offer, ask which modules you'll own, whether you'll have system admin rights, and whether the role involves an upcoming implementation. Roles that sound similar on paper can differ dramatically in growth, visibility, and the depth of technical work you'll actually do.
HRIS Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most hris analysts?
The companies hiring the most hris analysts right now include Ashley Furniture Industries, Foot Locker, and Fortinet, with the largest share of openings in Texas, New York, and Wisconsin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Large healthcare systems, financial services firms, and enterprise manufacturers tend to post the highest volume of hris analyst roles year-round.
How many hris analyst jobs are remote?
About 35% of hris analyst openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making it one of the more flexible roles in the HR function. Reporting-focused and system-administration positions tend to be the most remote-friendly, while roles tied to an active HRIS implementation or onboarding support often require at least some on-site presence.
How do you become a hris analyst?
Start with a degree in human resources, information systems, or business, then build hands-on exposure to an HRIS platform through an HR coordinator, payroll, or benefits role. Pursue a system-specific certification such as Workday Pro or SAP SuccessFactors certification to signal technical depth. Transition by targeting analyst roles at organizations already using the platform you've worked in.
Can you get an hris analyst job with little experience?
Yes, you can break into hris analyst roles by starting in an HR coordinator or HR generalist position where you touch the HRIS daily, even if you're not the primary administrator. Building a working knowledge of one platform, completing its vendor certification, and demonstrating you can run reports and troubleshoot basic configuration issues is often enough for junior analyst openings.
What does the hris analyst interview process look like?
Most hris analyst interview processes include an initial recruiter screen, a hiring manager conversation focused on your platform experience, and at least one technical or scenario round where you walk through how you'd solve a real system problem. Some employers add a take-home exercise asking you to build a report or document a workflow. Final rounds often include an HR director or IT stakeholder.
Where can I find and apply to hris analyst jobs?
You can find and apply to hris analyst jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your platform experience and seniority level, then apply directly to each opening that fits.
