Industrial Electrician Jobs in Florida

Duties/Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Installation and Maintenance: Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and industrial equipment, including wiring, circuit breakers, and control panels.

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in machinery and motor control systems using testing devices and technical diagrams.

• Technical Documentation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to guide installations and repairs.

• Safety Compliance: Follow local, state, and national electrical codes, perform inspections, and ensure all work meets safety regulations.

• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance to prevent equipment failure and minimize downtime.

• Collaboration: Work independently or as part of a team, often coordinating with other tradespeople like mechanical or plumbing technicians.

• Mentorship: Train and guide apprentices or junior electricians in safe and effective practices.

• Follow OSHA regulations and safety standards.

• All other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.

• Required a minimum of 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience: Completion of an apprenticeship program or several years of industrial electrical experience; Journeyman license often required.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency with electrical tools, testing equipment, and knowledge of industrial machinery and control systems, including PLCs.

• Required - Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws, policies, and rules.

• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by company.

• Must be regularly available to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.

• Must be available and willing to work such overtime as is necessary or desirable to meet business needs.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged standing and walking.

• Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, squat, lift, and reach.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

• Must be able to tolerate heat.

• Must be able to work and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.

• Noise may exceed 85db; must wear hearing protection. Exposure to extreme heat.

• Safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toed shoes are required while in the production areas.
