About the role
Responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s network and infrastructure environment. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, security, and performance of network systems across data center and client banking environments. Primary responsibilities include managing network connectivity, monitoring performance, maintaining firewall and switching infrastructure, and supporting operational improvements to minimize downtime and enhance system reliability. Provides support for server infrastructure as needed and ensures alignment with regulatory and security requirements.
This position can be located in Sioux Falls or Pierre, SD.
What you will do
- Administers and maintains network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless systems.
- Monitors network performance, availability, and capacity; identifies and resolves performance issues.
- Performs routine maintenance, updates, and configuration changes to ensure system stability.
- Troubleshoots network connectivity issues and restores service in a timely manner.
- Maintains and updates firewall rules, VPN connectivity, and access controls.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to improve network performance and reliability.
- Monitors bandwidth utilization, latency, and network health to prevent disruptions.
- Supports redundancy and failover processes to ensure continued service availability.
- Maintains accurate network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records.
- Follows and contributes to change management and incident response processes.
- Assists with audit requests and provides documentation for network-related controls.
- Supports server and infrastructure systems as needed, particularly where network dependencies exist.
- Assists with patching, updates, and system maintenance impacting connectivity or performance.
- Supports enforcement of network security policies and standards.
- Participates in vulnerability remediation and monitoring activities related to network systems.
What you will need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in system administration and network operations.
- In-depth knowledge of data backup and recovery techniques and tools.
- Strong technical skills in server and network infrastructure including, but not limited to, Microsoft Operating Systems, UNIX, Linux, Unisys, MCP, Fiserv Applications, and other proprietary banking platforms.
