How do you become a integration engineer in New York?
Most integration engineer roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field. The role carries no state-issued license in New York, so hiring is credential-driven rather than board-regulated. Employers across New York's financial services and healthcare sectors commonly look for vendor certifications from MuleSoft or Dell Boomi alongside hands-on experience integrating enterprise platforms, which serves as the practical credential that opens doors.
How much do integration engineers make in New York?
Integration engineers in New York earn a median of about $117,600 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $73,410 for the lowest 10% to over $192,900 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire integration engineers in New York?
Employers hiring integration engineers in New York right now include onsemi, GlobalFoundries, and Lockheed Martin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New York's concentration of large financial institutions, major hospital networks, and global technology firms means consistent demand for integration engineers with enterprise and regulated-industry experience.
Which New York cities have the most integration engineer jobs?
New York, Malta, and Albany have the most integration engineer openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its density of financial services firms, healthcare systems, and enterprise technology companies that rely heavily on integration work, while Buffalo and Albany see demand driven by regional healthcare networks, state government IT modernization, and the manufacturing and utilities sectors expanding their digital infrastructure.
Are there remote integration engineer jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most technical roles. About 39% of integration engineer openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves configuring cloud-based middleware and APIs rather than on-site hardware. The most fully remote opportunities tend to be in API development and platform administration, while roles requiring hands-on ERP or on-premises system access are more likely to require some in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a integration engineer in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior integration developer or associate middleware engineer role, often posted by New York's large consulting firms and systems integrators that staff technology projects for banks, insurers, and health systems across the state. Building a portfolio of small integration projects using MuleSoft's free community edition or a public API gives candidates a practical edge. Adjacent roles in database administration, IT support, or QA engineering at New York employers commonly transition into integration work within one to two years.
